My husband and I were trucking through the area looking for somewhere to eat and we happened upon this restaurant. Our experience was definitely a FIVE star visit. The waitstaff was friendly and constantly busy. Our waitress, Kayla, provided us with excellent service. She was friendly, fast, and very accommodating. She is one of the best waitresses we have ever encountered. And we also overheard a customer request an item that was not on the buffet and the manager, Richard, with no hesitation, fulfilled that customers request. Our visit at the Ponderosa was extraordinary and we will definitely return the next time we are in the area. Keep up the great work.

My experience has been wildly inconsistent. Service buffet style service understood is always good . Plates cleared away refills offered.

Food has gone downhill. One of the things I always looked forward to was their bread pudding. Today it was way overdone, it should never have made it to the food line. Dinner rolls not up to par. Was there at 4:30pm and was half hour before we saw any wait staff on the floor. Now to end this on a positive note, the fried chicken was excellent.

Actually I eat there every once in a while and its usually good. The food was a little dry for a dinner crowd. We had to ask for food to be replaced on the salad bar. Which is not our job to keep it stocked. I don’t like the new setup on the buffet. I did however like the other way they set it up. Our waitress was nice and helpful but we went be back for a while. Thanks anyway?

This place was terrible. We stopped on our way back from vacation. The reviews seemed decent and we were all starving. We spent 45 dollars on a meal that made us all sick. The steak was terrible. Nothing from the buffet tasted very good nor was is by no means fresh. The best thing there was was the salad. They did have a very friendly staff and was generally a pretty clean place. But the food is awful.

Giving two stars just due to the courteous manager on duty. Had to ask him if I had to get my own drinks for $89.00 after 30 minutes. He got us drinks and then she walked around us for ten minutes and collected 5 plates. Never came back. Food was not very fresh or tasty.

WOW, huge change here at Ponderosa. They’re serving Catfish fillets not belly’s, the meatloaf was excellent, so was the fried chicken, all fresh, hot and delicious. The staff were on target when we needed refills on our drinks. Everything looked so good, and the salad bar was to die for. Everything fresh, crisp lettuce, etc. Very Happy eating there.

This Ponderosa was very nice and clean. The waiter came by regularly and removed our plates plus asked about refills on our drinks. The food was good but not as many selections as other Ponderosa’s because of being smaller. We dined during the lunch buffet around 2pm so it wasn’t very crowded.

I’m only giving it 1 star because it’s making me, or I would not be giving any. There was a very poor selection on the buffet. Because there was only a couple pieces of cold chicken I chose catfish and it was stale tasting. It tasted like it was drowned in grease and then left to sit for hours under a warmer..so basically I paid buffet price for mashed patatoes and a salad. Worst food ever I will not be returning.

It was good food but the server was not the best. She came to the table after i sat down with my second plater from the salad bar. After that plate she brought my steak and potato but never returned to ask if everything is ok or if I needed anything. It was not that busy so she should have been able to be available if needed. Steak was cooked as requested and the price for the steak was a great deal.
