Food was very good, service quite acceptable. My biggest complaint was price. We had not been to Ponderosa in many years, did not understand their “buffet” was so much more than simple salad bar. It might have been nice if the person taking orders would’ve explained that we could’ve done either the buffet or dinner. Family of 4, $85. None of us ate more than salad/roll from the buffet, and we all mentioned we hadn’t been there and didn’t really know what /how to order. Now we know for next time, in another 5 years. Lol

I loved the spicy chicken they have very good chicken and orange bread . When I went in to use a bathroom one of the toilets wouldn’t flush so that leaves two toilets to work. The workers were very nice and they always were checking up on us to make sure we were satisfied. They were checking up on us a good amount. But I was a very good time to spend a meal with my family . I second you go there

Absolutely terrible! My wife and I love Ponderosa and we love the buffet. However, this location is disgusting. We waited at the front counter for 10 minutes before the girl in the back decided to come out. Then, when we went up to the buffet, it was a chore just to find a clean plate. Stacks and stacks of filthy, food encrusted plates. I will never step foot inside this location again!

The food on and off of the buffet is TERRIBLE. Cesar salad was wilted and old just like the last time I was there. I used to love their chicken wings, now they’ve been sitting for too long and have weird dark grease spots where they were once a perfect golden brown. The old things that were good were the deserts. I hope they get it together. Waitress was nice, and they’d improved on the look of the place.

Came for the lunch buffet. First time eating at Ponderosa in Cadillac…the whole place was dirty. I have never seen a floor that dirty in a restaurant. I was pretty grossed out. The floor in the dining room looked like it hadn’t been swept or vacuumed in a couple days. The first two plates I grabbed were also dirty. The food was good, not great, but good. Although the strawberry topping for the ice cream had sprinkles and peanuts mixed in, which happens. But in this case, they looked and tasted old as if it had been set out again from the previous day. Witnessed another unhappy customer who was very dissatisfied with the food. On a positive note, the young man that took our order and our server were pleasant.

Food was actually good and they had crab! But the waitress actually had the nerve to say to me and my family, you guys are really making me make my money tonight! What? Isn’t your job to take care of the customers? Maybe never Agian. And if we do! There will be a seating preference.

Stopped here at 7:30 on a Tuesday. Salad bar was okay, potatoes in potato salad weren’t cooked all the way. Had fresh Mac and cheese, chicken, mashed potatoes, and country fried steak on the bar. Out of tartar sauce, waitresses seemed busy with only a few tables. (Was close to closing time). Out of most of the deserts. Looked like they had peach crumble and bread pudding before we got to the desserts. For $50 for three people to eat was hoping for a little better. $12.99 buffet plus $3 drinks, plus tax and tip and we were over $60.

The buffet was not good at all. The food was all bland. When I went to the men’s bathroom the floor was all wet around the urinal. It was not worth 32.00 for 2 people. My best friend and I were passing through on our way to the U.P. for a camping trip. Now we both have stomach issues after eating there and I hope our trip isn’t ruined. Very bad!

I generally enjoy this restaurant, because I can quickly feed my children ages 8 and 2. However, the last time I was there a new employee was working the front counter where you order your food. She was trying her best, but was having difficulties with the computer. She buzzed the manager twice to assist her (to no avail) and finally went to look for him. When she returned we were told would would have to wait even longer because he was outside smoking…after we had already waited over 20 minutes. Shame on you for your poor management skills! That is customer service at its worst!
