2023 Update: So we went back here for lunch. Their selections improved a little bit. But still super limited compared to all the buffets I’ve been to. Taste was just okay. Salad was fresh so +1 for that.

Heard not great things about ponderosa, but I’m a try it for myself kinda girl. I took my family after my oldest graduated for a nice steak dinner. For the price, the quality of the food was sub par, at best. My two oldest girls got steak and shrimp dinner. $24.99 I believe for a mediocre 1/4 inch steak and 4 measley fried shrimp. The fries were the best thing they had on their plates. Pretty sad. The buffet was very simple with little selection and nothing screamed yum! Just didn’t seem like the staff put the effort in that they could have. They could have a great thing going on with no American style buffets anymore, but they’re falling short in all aspects. And my expectations for a buffet aren’t high!! Lol I will say that the qservice was about what is expected at a buffet restaurant. They should drop the steak house part of their name. They are far from it.

Food and service were both great! I ordered the steak tip lunch special which also came with the full buffet. Bill total was 15.89 and let me tell you it was worth every penny! I tried just about every option they offer on the buffet and I can’t list one thing I didn’t like. The beef barley soup was better than the potato in my opinion but both good. I’m leaving stuffed and still have my whole lunch special to eat for dinner later tonight. Not knowing the buffet was included with the special was a nice surprise! Aimee (I’m sorry If spelt wrong) was very attentive, nice chatting with, and provided good friendly service which makes a dining experience even better!

Marva was the most amazing waitress we have ever had this evening. She connected with our whole family and we have never had more friendly, welcoming service anywhere we have ever eaten. It is obvious she loves her job, and praised the company she works for and the owners of her location. We will make the drive back from Jackson to visit more often. My children have talked about how nice she was all night since we left, and how good the food was!

Need better food. They use to have chicken wings and chicken nuggets and meatloaf and all other good things. Now it’s not even worth the $ 33 dollars for my boyfriend and daughter to ear there didn’t really eat a plate worth of food. Just basically sides no meat because we don’t eat fish.

After our Ponderosa location closed a few years ago, we have tried stopping at all the locations remaining that we encountered. When we stopped here we were met with friendly staff, delicious food options, and clean dining area and restrooms. We will definitely return to this location!

Visited after a morning at the water park and got the 10 ounce sirloin med rare cooked perfect btw and the auce bar. Was very happy with the steak and food bar. Good job!!
