Pompei Restaurant, serving customers for 3 generations with its original style of quick service. Setting the trend in the late 80’s, well before the “Fast Casual” boom, Ralph Davino had a vision when he decided to expand the family business from just a small bakery specializing in bread and limited pans of pizza to the fast casual/quick service Italian Restaurant today. Ralph wanted to share the delicious recipes from his childhood with the help of wife Rosemarie and mother, Marie. Ralph was able to produce delicious traditional Southern Italian meals serving the very busy Near West Side “Little Italy” neighborhood in Chicago. Over the years, customers have come to know that they can always expect a warm welcome and an authentic meal.

I came to this restaurant on the day of my birthday (March 31st) with my husband and sister to celebrate. The place on the inside is like a historical palace it makes you feel very welcome. The employees are very nice and comforting as well as very helpful on what to pick alongside of your food. We decided to eat outside and it was amazing. The food was spectacular and just delicious I would 11 out of 10 recommend anyone to visit or make a reservation, it’s very worthwhile!

A decent food place in the Little Italy neighborhood for a quick meal at reasonable prices and generous quantity. They have a big menu, vegetarian friendly as well. It’s a well established and well maintained family restaurant. Loved it’s ambience and their service.

We had the chicken Alfredo with breaded chicken, Basil and Tomato slice of pizza and Chicken Parmigiano. The Chicken Alfredo was very bland. The chicken Parmigiano with spaghetti was just okay. The basil tomato pizza was the only thing we really enjoyed. It was crispy and had a ton of flavor. Portion sizes were all okay but not for the price and quality/taste of most of the food. I was really hoping to like this place from all the good reviews but it wasn’t for us and we probably won’t be back again.

I’ve been coming here for years and the food is absolutely delicious. Literally everything on the menu will be full of flavor . From the fresh bread to the salads to the pasta dishes to the Stromboli and pizza to the Salmon dinner you will not be disappointed I promise you. The rigatoni and gnocchi in vodka sauce are phenomenal. We had the Fettuccine Alfredo with Grilled chicken and vegetables. The calamari was amazing, my mother loved her Mela Verde salad and the Salmon Dinner was excellent, the sauce they use is to die for. We even dipped our bread in it. Try everything, give these people all of your money!!! Highly recommend stopping at this establishment if you’re ever in Chicago.
