I came in on a Monday, about 5pm.
I believe I was the only customer at that point, but it began to fill up shortly after. Mostly an older crowd of couples.
The waitress was attentive.
The food was a huge let down.
Chips were obviously store bought. No trace of oil on them. They were OK for store bought, I guess.
The salsa was thin, one note, with weird strands of what I assume was tomato. No onion, cilantro, garlic, etc were evident.
I ordered queso to start off. Its only taste was an off-putting sort of flour-ish glop. It gave the impression that it was some sort of Cisco powdered mix. I did not eat most of it.
Then I ordered quesadillas as the entree.
They were edible, but far from good. The overwhelming flavor was of grease. A couple bites I had to spit out because the beef was just chewy fat. Not all of it, just a couple of bites.
The pico de gallo had a sort of “off” taste.
The rice was flavorless except a hint of some sort of seed oil.
The refried beans had an un-appealing look to them. Too thick, they never laid down. Just sort of a slightly flattened ball of beans, like it came out of an ice-cream scoop. The taste was no better. Just boringly bland, like the rest of the meal.
The bill for this, for one person, a small chile con queso, one entree, and a soft drink, no alcohol, was $31, plus tip.
I used to go to this place when it was on Sante Fe, years ago. Repeat visits. I won’t be returning to this location.

I tried this place today and the food was beyond disappointment. I ordered 2 carne asada burritos and they looked like a child prepared them. Literally had 3 pieces of meet. Do not eat here! It was disgusting!!

I really was hoping for a better experience food wise but was disappointed. Service was awesome but food was very average. I hope they step it up, there’s too many other places locally for mexican food. I’lll try it again, maybe just a bad day

Alright folks, we found the holy grail of authentic Mexican food. Small family restaurant with one original owner . The food has so many spice flavors that you can’t begin to identify them all. The food is incredible and the staff is so friending and inviting. The owner even came out and visited with us and others. Go and you will not be disappointed.

We stopped here on a whim today and it was great! The staff are super helpful and friendly & attentive, they pay close attention to cleanliness (when people leave a booth they were thoroughly cleaning after they left, moreso than I’ve ever seen at any other restaurant) – the bathroom was very clean also, another good sign. The salsa is super good, the queso is just okay. .loved the chimichanga and flautas!! The rice was just okay. The kind waitress really recommended the fried ice cream and we decided to indulge since the kids have never tried it before & I rarely see it on menus anymore. Best fried ice cream I’ve ever tried!!!! This is by far the best Mexican restaurant we’ve found in Weatherford and we can’t wait to come back and try more yummy food next time! The building may not look like much from the outside but don’t let it fool you…it’s delicious food, cozy atmosphere, very laid back and friendly. Thanks for a great lunch, Polo’s!

It’s Tex-mex Mexican food. Everything’s on the bland side. Nothing super special. It is a charming simple place to eat. About $10 for lunch menu items. Service was quick and prompt. No real need to return anytime soon. I had the lunch #4 chicken taco and chicken enchilada rice and beans. Seems like a local spot for the retired folks

Went in for breakfast on a Saturday morning after being completely ignored at truck stop restaurant down the road. We were greeted and seated immediately by the friendly host. You can see lots of regulars and repeat customers in there. Large portions and food was really good. Pancakes were the best I’ve had in a while!
