Best Peruvian food I’ve ever had at a restaurant! We got the chicken chaufa and lomo saltado. Great service, great food, available parking. We were going to get it to go but the atmosphere convinced us otherwise. I will be coming back here!

The food was good, and the employees were nice.
While waiting for my Togo order, the gentleman on the front was very nice and attentive to the customer enjoying their food; which was nice to see!
I enjoyed the Chaufa and sauces! My S/O liked the Milanesa but stated was a little tough.
I was missing about $10 worth of items. I understand things get overlooked but double/triple checking would help especially after spending $60
However I will definitely come back to try other items, and will double check on my end as a customer

The guy at the front desk is super nice and hooks you up! He has great customer service skills and remembers his customers. I ordered a chicken bowl with extra protein and an egg on top, let me tell you; I had an ethereal experience. This was a must after a great gym session!

5-Star Google Review for Pollos Tete – A Taste of Peru in Jacksonville!

From the moment we walked in, Pollos Tete made us feel right at home. The friendly young man at the front greeted us with a warm welcome and asked if we’d be dining in or getting takeout – such a great first impression! His upbeat energy really sets the tone for the whole experience.

The service was excellent throughout our meal. A kind server checked on us right away for drinks, and later the manager came by personally to see how we were enjoying our food. And let me tell you – that first bite was pure magic! The flavors were incredible – bold, authentic, and absolutely delicious. Every dish showed true Peruvian cooking at its finest.

What really stood out:
– The plantains were cooked perfectly – not too thick or thin, with just the right crispy outside and sweet soft inside
– Huge portions with beautiful presentation (like hibachi but way better tasting)
– Spotlessly clean restaurant, including bathrooms and open kitchen
– Amazing aromas of grilled meats and spices filling the air
– Fun atmosphere with soccer items in the background

Just one small note – drinks are mostly canned (no homemade or refillable options), but that’s minor compared to how great the food is.

The location is perfect too! Right next door there’s an ice cream shop (Paleteria Deya), a Cuban restaurant, and even a UPS store just steps away if you need it.

Pollos Tete is hands down one of the best Peruvian restaurants in Jacksonville. The amazing food, top-notch service, and clean, welcoming atmosphere make it a 10/10 experience. We’ll definitely be regulars here – I can’t recommend it enough!

Final verdict: If you haven’t tried Pollos Tete yet, what are you waiting for? This place is absolutely worth visiting – you won’t be disappointed!

5/5 Stars – A true culinary gem!

Pollor Tete serves as authentic Peruvian food as you can find in North Carolina. The Bistec a lo Pobre was excellent. The staff was friendly. The ceiling leeks a bit when its raining heavily, but as long as you sit at a good table or go when the sun is shining, its worth the trip!

Great food and friendly service! The hand cut fries are awesome when you add the green sauce with ketchup. Loved the Peruvian soda! Tasted just like American A&W Cream soda. The Brazilian soda is also quite good. The half charcoal roasted chicken had the most moist chicken breast. The juices just flowed when pieces were pulled off. The brine or marinade they use infuses so well throughout the whole chicken, not just the outer layer like at some restaurants, making the chicken have so much flavor. The steak for the steak salad was well seasoned and the salad dressing for the salad is very tasty. The tres leches cake was also delicious with what tasted like a little caramel drizzle added in. I just wish the serving was a little bigger 🙁 Overall, loved the ambiance dining in this place, the prices were very affordable and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be dining here again!

Super solid tasting Peruvian chicken spot! Really happy to have them in Jacksonville.

The only thing I would improve is portion sizes. These are both the $4.95 sizes of plantains and yucca fries. Very little food for about $10.

Outside of this, great restaurant!

This restaurant is a hidden gem in Jacksonville and definitely worth trying! Their fried rice and lomo saltado are both amazing. Since we’re located right across the street, we eat here quite often for convenience, but we recommend it to everyone. The owners are so nice and accommodating, the wait time is always short, the food is consistently great, and the portions are generous.

I wish I could describe the taste of the food. There is so much flavor packed into a single dish. I got a steak rice. It reminds me of fried rice with the veggies but the spices of South American food. The best mess of Asian meets South American dish. Besides, they got almost a perfect score from the health department. The ladies working are on top of cooking. There’s minimal wait. The only thing negative I have to say is the plastic silverware. That uses real plates but plastic utensils. It’s a great place to enjoy some Peruvian styled foods. Try it out you won’t be disappointed.
