The chicken was not as juicy as the other locations with this name. It was good but not great like in Gardena or k town. No bread or tortillas. But they were very generous with the spicy green sauce. Super friendly service and helpful with the choices. My friend had the beef and fries combo in the picture. He liked it a lot. Fries were fresh and crispy.

Though a small joint, it’s food is my son’s favorite. Order chaufa and save $$ as you can easily share it with someone. It a large portion of chicken and rice! The pollo a la brasa is tasty and a favorite of mine. Three stars for this place needs a bigger venue to fill more people! But it sales good food!

The food! We all liked the lomo, one person loves this place and the green sauce. The aguitito and beans were good.

The Inca Kola reminds me of fanta, was good.

Got three Lomo Saltado(13.75), an Aguatito(9.99), small and medium beans($6 together), don’t remember what the $4 was, Inca Gold Kolas 2 liters($5), and sauce 2.50.

More than enough food for 4. There was a mix up in the order because I speak really low and the face masks make it harder to understand me but they were more than happy to accommodate the order(they seemed willing to replace items or refund them).

OK spot for Peruvian food. Not fantastic. Chicken is a bit dry. Food is served with no effort in presentation. Chicha Morada was terrible.

The food is very tasty, the Aguadito, Lomo Saltado and Pollo A las brasas was really good. We also tried the Ollocuito con carne and although it was good it lacked enough carne.
The place is very tiny and it was busy for a Wednesday. As other reviews said, I would rather take out then eat there. It is pricey and the cashier could use a bit of customer service training. She wasn’t rude but very short and not informative when asked about the menu.

Don’t understand how people expect service immediately when they want something fresh . Waited for my food but worth every penny . Food is great and great location. Other reviews that never tasted the food and gave it a bad review makes me think they might feel entitled to get full attention.

I am in love! I am so happy that there is an empanada place so close to my house now! I have been seeing ads for this place on Instagram for such a long time and one night I was at a bar nearby and realized how close I was to Island empanada!

I convinced my buddy to come with me and we got a deal which was 3 empanadas some, rice/beans and plátanos for a great price. The only thing is that this is only during a certain time so you have to make sure you get there in time.

The restaurant had a lot of choices for empanadas and there is no way you’ll be able to get to try all of them in one shot. This is how they get you to come back. To be honest, I’m not 100% sure which flavors I got but I remember them all being absolutely amazing! I will definitely be coming back for dinner, lunch, a snack, or any excuse I can use to come back!

The chicken was very tasty, specifically when dipped in the special yellow sauce. The “chicha” was very cool and refreshing. Will definitely be back when in Downey.

As a resident of Downey, ive always drove by this location wanting to try it, and after today I should have kept on driving. Ive never been disappointed at a Peruvian restaurant until today. I ordered a whole chicken and they served it half way cooked, at first I thought it was marinade that seapped into the chicken but no it was blood, not to mention the smell coming from the chicken foul. The chicken appeared cooked from the exterior but no it was raw on the inside. The plantains were good but it’s kind of hard to ruin anything fried, the fries good, the white rice good, the beans good but the star of the dish was disappointing. The only reason for this detailed review is due to the stomach pains and diarrhea I’m now dealing with, mind you in only had a single bite. I knew, there was something wrong when other guests kept coming in complaining on missing take out items or wrong orders. Please don’t come here unless your okay with being sick.
