Visited the Mountain Taproom which was open at 3pm. Fabulous fried oysters, crunchy tender texture contrast and savory flavor. Pork belly sliders were fabulous with the caramelized apple and coleslaw. Blackberry on blackberry pie a la mode was the bomb. Highly recommend.

The view is great. The portions are large. The rainbow trout was very good. Venison stroganoff sounded good but lacked flavor. Disappointed in the Brunswick Stew that was served meatless. The other person on our party only had 2 small pieces of sausage in their stew. The root vegetable stew was good. The wings were very tasty. The sirloin was on the tough side despite being quite rare.

Service was excellent. Food & drinks were ok. Ambiance/vibe wayyyyy tooo quiet. The tap room looked so sad & didn’t have any lights on. Blackberry margarita was good & drinks were reasonably priced. The Caesar lettuce was not fresh, the lettuce was turning brown. The half chicken was good with the blackberry Demi glaze. The NY strip was very fatty. The cookie ice cream was good. The bread basket assortment of bread was good but felt rubbery I think because it was microwaved. Some of the food tasted microwaved or overcooked to be honest. Weather was bad & this was our only option. Do not recommend steak, salad or bread basket.

A slightly rustic feel for a fine dining experience so temper your expectations and you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Steak and salmon were both excellent – although somewhat pricey. Sunset views of the valley and the mountains of the George Washington national forest are incredible.

A wonderful view from this restaurant in Shenandoah National park! The food is good and very reasonably priced. We (a family of 4 from Denmark: parents + 2 grownups) have tried both dinner and breakfast and both times met by very friendly service. No doubt a recommendation from us to enjoy a meal here if you are in the park!

We visited here on a Sunday in early April (Easter Sunday). They were open for lunch. We knew they had dinning here and it was packed. For a table for 5 around 1PM they said 30-45 min wait. We opted for take out order which they also do. But we waited probably close to 30 mins for our order anyways. I don’t know if the staff was prepared for that many people to show up on Easter Sunday. There is a very nice outside patio eating area with a great view just outside the restaurant building. It was a little chilly and windy but worth it for the view. Honestly the food was okay and we paid just under $100 for 1 adult meals, 2 kids meal, soup and 2 appetizers. They also forgot one of our orders and didn’t give us sauce for another. Good thing we didn’t drive off to eat somewhere else.

We came late in the day, and apparently were overlooked as we spotted patrons who arrived after we did being seated. That was quickly remedied. We enjoyed our bugers and fries and the service we received from Emily, who made sure we were happy throughout our meal. Serving Pepsi products and local beer selections.

We live in the area. We come here often. Food is always good and good portions and service fast. If you come at peak hours there maybe a wait to get in the restaurant.

Amazing mountain views, Good ambience, fast service. The server accommodated our request to serve taproom menu to dining room. We ordered Angus burger, pasta and signature blackberry ice cream pie and all 3 were amazing and I would definitely go again. The best being blackberry pie. The fries too were delicious. We ordered Tangerine ale which was the perfect drink after a good hike. The place could also serve as a good sunset point.
