As it was my first time going, I wasn’t sure what to expect. It’s a fried chicken establishment much like KFC and Bojangles. The difference is that the chicken is, IMO, better than the competition. Better (lightly) seasoned, and not overly greasy. As a side dish, I tried the plantains which I never had before. Not bad! And I guess that because I never tried them, I was unprepared for the flavor and texture. I, personally would like for them to open a location in Monroe, NC.

Incredible Guatemalan-style chicken! It tastes like a genuine home-cooked meal—juicy, flavorful, and not oily at all. The portions and sides are very generous for the price. I struggled to finish my plate! Definitely recommend if you want quality food that isn’t greasy.

Fresh and great quality chicken!! Campero spicy chicken sandwich was crispy and flavorful. Coming to chicken, both crispy and grilled chickens were juicy and succulent but for me grilled chicken is a winner. Yuca fries were perfectly cooked and not too oily. Plantains were delicious and felt like made from scratch rather than using prepackaged frozen stuff. Chicken empanadas were good.

Fave thing I had was the horchata drink. I love those and to see it’s free refills is awesome because most places that serve it don’t offer that. The food was just ok for me. I got the 3pc with side of rice. The rice was good, chicken was just average for me. Didn’t get a wow factor. But service was good and the place was very clean.

Lucky to get there when I did because after I place my order it was crowded. The line was from the counter to the door. I wish I would have took a picture but yeah I just would have seen a lot of people. The staff is very polite friendly. They have a mango drink in there. Is delicious if you like mangoes. The chicken sandwich I got was the spicy one and it was spicy. It was fried good and the pickle was just that little extra touch on it. The salad was excellent and feeling. I wish they would had put one more piece of chicken breast on it. But it was good just the way it was.

I like getting the family sized meals with half fried chicken and half grilled. I personally prefer the grilled chicken its just very juicy and tasty. However, in my opinion think the best food option is their chicken empanadas with their special sauce.

I don’t know if they just aim to be good but the reviews made me go there I wasnt disappointed I love the packaging the food I hate chicken skin but I literally ate theirs. I will say my chicken on the inside is a bit tough. But not under cooked . I love it. I got the 4 piece and they gave me 2 huge pieces and 4 small ones I’m happy either way

Catching up on reviews. Had dinner here via delivery on Sunday, 09-11-22. I ordered the 2-piece chicken, empanadas, yuca fries, flan, & horchata (not pictured).
The fried chicken wasn’t bad for a restaurant. I don’t order fried chicken too often. The food was hot when I received my order. The flan wasn’t nasty, just a little different. Wasn’t as creamy or custard-like as flan tends to be. The food was filling. I am to have an order that allows me to have leftovers. Mission accomplished here.

I can not say enough great things about Pollo Campero! Between the amazing fried chicken (best in Charlotte!), killer sides like rice & beans (my favorites) and unique drink offerings, everything tastes homemade and super fresh!
If that weren’t enough, their customer service is absolutely stellar! One time Uber Eats dropped the ball on a delivery order and even though it wasn’t the restaurant’s fault at all, they went so far above and beyond to make things right. Everyone is always so friendly and they really take care of their customers.

HORRIBLE PEOPLE WORK HERE. i literally got food with the last bit of my money.. the order didnt send to the store but they took the money. I tried to tell them but they refused to help or believe me and now i have to starve AND not get my money back. The shorter girl was really rude and pushing me away to help other people, and the taller manager lady was worse. She kept repeating herself like i was dumb, saying it declined..but i was showing her the money was GONE and that THEY HAD IT. HORRRRRRRIBLE TEAM
