Hands down the best pizza place I’ve been to in Portland. By the slice and the vibe is always really fun.

Came here after hanging out in downtown Portland. Everyone at the pizza shop was super nice. I ordered a pepperoni slice and garlic cheese pizza. The pizza is good and the environment made you feel like you just stepped into a New York Pizza shop. I would recommend checking it out if you’re in the area.

My second time coming in. I’m from Seattle and around the PNW this is the only authentic NY style pizza I’ve came across.

The interior doesn’t feel like you’ve escaped FROM New York- you’ve escaped TO New York. The owners have been running the place for over 40 years and counting. They’re from New York and they know what they’re doing, evidenced from the taste and foldability of the pizza, the plates being paper and the cups carrying the famed logo of Pepsi.

The interior is very quirky, old but gold, and lots of decor of the city in question. Lots of little details everywhere and there’s always a cool sticker or picture to see.

Will be coming back whenever I’m in the PDX.

Aye, I’m walkin’ here!

I wanted to give this place a three-star rating mainly because of its unique atmosphere. It felt different in a charming way, and I wouldn’t say it was bad at all. It was a delightful experience to enjoy pizza at a spot that’s been around for about 40 years, especially since they were pioneers of New York-style pizza by the slice in Poland. The ambiance was lovely, but I did feel a bit uneasy outside, as I noticed some homeless individuals nearby. I understand that it’s not entirely the restaurant’s fault, but being in a downtown area can make things seem a bit intimidating at night. However, I believe visiting during the morning or afternoon might be a more comfortable option. Overall, the pizza was really good, and I appreciate the history and character of the place.

This is a great spot to grab slice of pizza. I like that it isn’t heavy on the sauce and the slices are a decent size for the price. The staff is always awesome and even gave my friend’s dog some treats. I also like that they open till a decent time.

You know, I’ve thought about whether to post a review about Escape From New York Pizza. Here’s my understanding – the guy behind the counter gets off on being an ass to people. If you don’t mind someone being purposely rude to people then have a go. The pizza is pretty good.

I called to order a pizza for my anniversary on Monday. My husband LOVES this pizza. It also happened to be the day that I found out I had no new cancer growth, so I was feeling really good. Until I talked to the guy on the phone. I’m gonna be honest, I had to call twice because the first time I hung up on him. I had to center myself to order the pizza because his shortness with me on the phone really rubber me the wrong way, especially considering how good I had been feeling.

I picked up the pizza at the time I had asked for and it was good.

Do with that what you will.

Hands down one of the best pizzas I’ve had in Portland! The combination pizza at this place was amazing So much flavor! The ingredients are incredibly fresh, and you can taste the difference. Plus, knowing the dough is made fresh every morning adds that extra touch. We had the pizza to go, but definitely trying to dine in next time!

The customer service is great as well. If you’re craving authentic New York-style pizza in town, this is the spot to hit. Highly recommend!

Yo. Does being raised in Queens NY qualify me to rate this pizza? Yeah kind of. It’s bordering on my hometown slice, thin crust, cheesy cut and a nice sauce. Not as juicy or cheesy as me home slice, but damn it’s close and good. Definitely one of P-Town’s finest. I’d come back for more.

This pizza always hits the spot. It’s sold by the slice, and you choose what sings to your heart when you see it. Grab a seat in the window or a bar stool. The slices are generous and perfectly crunchy on the bottom, no slump. Tasty sauce and toppings. Great for a quick bite.

Fun old walk up restaurant selling huge slices of pizza. Pepperoni and Italian sausage had really good flavor. Lots of cheese. Reasonable price

The pizza and vibe here are so fun! I’ve never been anywhere like it in Portland. Ordered the pepperoni and the mushroom and tomato slices, and it was everything I wanted from a greasy slice of pizza. Only points off come from staff being a little short with us, but I suppose that adds to the New York ambience
