Interesting location for a pizza place, was a lucky find for us. The service is great, the waiting time is super long. The food tasted very good! The time we went, soda machine was down. I imagine is hard to find parts to fix it in that town. It was a unique experience.

It’s iconic for sure, but unfortunately, the food isn’t on par with the incredible pizza it once had. Consistency could be much better, wait times are long and we didn’t even get the pizza we ordered, but the views and conversations are incredible.

Was outstanding last summer. The first time we went this year, not so much. One of our orders was wrong, but it was so slow, we didn’t bother to fix it. We were prepared to wait, but over an hour for pasta, is a bit much. The pizza later in the week was very good, however, and the service much better than earlier.

Terrible experience, I have been coming to LC since I was a few months old. Every time our trip is coming to an end we always attend Poker Alice as tradition to recall all the good memories of the trip. Our dinner is usually very good, but this time around it was ridiculous. Staff was very unfriendly, Alcohol license was expired, all but 3 sodas were out of order, Tables were messy, glass mirrors were very dirty, pizza was underdone… when asked to reheat we got a very salty response to do so, they stuck the pizza back in the oven with the paper lining still under the pizza, had to peel it off. I usually eat a lot of pizza, but this occasion I didnt finish one slice. We were siting in the back room next to the “Emergency Exit” door, Staff kept going in and out of the room and every time the door opened the aroma of marijuana filled the whole restaurant… I know it is legal in colorado, and I have no problem with it, but in the setting of a family restaurant and its not even the customers who wreak of the scent is very unprofessional and uncomfortable for me and my family. Staff was all on their phones as people stopped coming in, kitchen, tables and bathroom was very unsanitary. I will not be back.

We had heard about this place before staying in Lake City and wanted to try it for a while. I would call the decor “rustic,” but what you would expect in a small city, and outdoor seating is available, even in the mornings. The pizza was excellent, and the large was HUGE– a couple pizzas and our four teens were well sated. The breakfast was good as well, the coffee good, and the re-ordering process was not a problem, not really different from asking for a second plate from the server at your table. IDK what the other commentator was thinking unless he/she was looking for a McDonalds in the mountains! I highly recommend this restaurant.

On busy days it can take a little while to get it but the pizza is every bit worth the wait

The pizza and calzones at Poker Alice are great! My wife and I have eaten there whenever we are in Lake City since 2008 and it is always excellent. The service is friendly, but the place is a bit small inside. They have wonderful outdoor seating however to offset the cramped indoor space and who wouldn’t love seating outdoors to eat in the San Juans? We have only had the pizza and calzones but I hear they also have a great breakfast and sandwiches! We enthusiastically recommend them!

Great pizza! BUT you let your liquor license expire in the middle of the summer/busy season. Bad idea. Would have done 5 stars with a beer with my pizza.

Amazingly affordable place to eat, pizza tasted good and the 16 inch pizza is more than enough for 4 people. I did feel like the place could be a little more hygienic but that is my only complaint.

Pizza was good. Could use a few spices in the sauce. Plenty of cheese. Out of some stuff, tables could use a cleaning. Overall a satisfying dinner for a reasonable price.
