Finally got around to trying this place. Was so excited when they were building it, then it took forever to open. But finally, got a chance to eat a late lunch here!
Everyone is very clean, bright, modern. The lady at the register greeted me, and was very friendly.
It was miserable cold out and I NEEDED hot katsu curry. Also got the spicy tuna yubu pocket which is just inarizushi stuffed with spicy tuna.
Everything was delicious. The pork Katsu was perfectly crunchy, the rice was a good texture, the curry sauce was delicious. The spicy tuna yubu pocket thing was alright, a little bland, but tasty.
A great lunch for 20$. Big portions!

Been wanting to try this place. Everything seemed fresh. Good service. I liked the build your own poke bowl. Large bowl you can get 3 proteins. Can also get katsu which i want to try next time. Lots of seating and clean. Can get one fountain refill.

I tried this restaurant after finishing my grocery shopping. I was interested in the tonkatsu since that is one of my favorite japanese dishes. I want to try the sandwiches but I had to just try the tonkatsu dishes first. I took my father with me and he got the tonkatsu plate with Japanese curry and rice. I got the Ramen with tonkatsu on top. Both were delicious the dashi for my ramen was great, but the star was (and should be) the tonkatsu, it was cooked well, the outside was crunchy but not soggy. The flavor is great, I only got the pork version since that is the classic. I am interested in trying the other offering like beef or chicken. They also offer Poke but I get that enough in Hawaii. You can order from the staff or use the digital kiosk. They also ask you to bus your own table which isn’t a big deal to me but that is why I gave a 3 star for service, if you have questions they will answer they try to be as helpful as possible you will not feel ignored.

I ordered the Curry Udon with chicken Katsu and an Egg sandwhich. Both were insanely delicious. The staff was amazing and friendly. Worth a visit and not far from the Bus 72 stops on 82nd street. Will go again to try the other food in time.

I was excited to try this new place in my neighborhood. I got the calamari for take out last night. My first disappointment was that the 2 ounce dipping sauce was less than half full. Even a bigger disappointment was the tough, rubbery over cooked calamari. I really wanted to like this new place.

Out of katsu sauce at 4:45pm on a Tuesday, which is unacceptable for a place that specializes in katsu. Especially given that there are 4-5 very large Asian grocery stores just north of here. A manager should have gone and gotten more much earlier in the day. I had my heart set on fish katsu because I can’t find it anywhere (and my partner already ordered poke), so I went to Fred Meyer and bought “Japanese barbecue sauce” which is pretty dang close in flavor profile, so I could enjoy this. Awkward thing to do, to be sure, but the fish katsu plate with katsu sauce is what I was there for.
They were pretty pushy about their alternate of Japanese curry, which I had to say multiple times that I do not like.
Unfortunately, the fish katsu was fish tenders, and not even good ones. It was not katsu breading. How disappointing.
