A must stop when I am in town visiting. I hadn’t been home in a couple years and was seeing mixed reviews. I’m so glad I didn’t listen because the quality is just as good as I remember and the flavors are phenomenal. The service was great and the server/cashier was so kind.
I used to get egusi with fish, but this time I tried okra stew with fish. It was even better than the egusi stew I love! My siblings would not stop stealing my food because it was so good. I saw some complaints about how long the food takes, but everything is made to order and fresh. It is so worth the wait and I am looking forward to the next time I’m in town to get some more good food.

Beef Eugusi soup …. Unbelievably gross. It was not edible, it smelled burnt and tasted flat out burnt. I called to question if it was supposed to taste like that and lady who I spoke to said it’s supposed to taste burnt from the melon seeds. This tasted like charcoal. I feel like there’s no way it should have tasted the way it did. I had everyone at work try it and did not like it either. They agreed it tasted burnt. It was $25.00 for something I unfortunately had to toss out after I had one bite. I wanted to enjoy this meal so bad, I’m a foodie and not picky at all. My friend recommended Taste of West Africa and after she tired my food she could not believe how terrible and not edible it was. She said it should not taste like that. This place was closest to my job, so came here instead. This meal really was not a go for me, I typically do not leave bad reviews but I had to for this one. Photo’s shown are after myself and 3 other co workers tried it and as you can see didn’t make a dent , barely touched. The yam ball has grease from the egusi soup, from tasting it. Portion was great sadly it was not good.

We finally had an opportunity to try Point One and it did not disappoint. Fayetteville desperately needs more authenticate food experiences and this one hits home. This is truly authenticate African cuisine and I love that it has not been watered down to fit the American palate. The flavors are bold and the spice levels are on point. Because of the intricacies associated with preparing these dishes, I recommend dining in when you have time to spare or consider ordering ahead.
The service was amazing and the young lady that helped us that was extremely patient and made great recommendations. We will be repeat offenders and intend to return often. Thank you for a great experience!

This was my first time coming, and at first I was skeptical because of the mix reviews, But I’m glad I still came to try it because as someone that is familiar with Nigerian food I’m well aware that Nigerian rice has a unique scent and it doesn’t equate to the food being burnt. It’s sad to see people give this restaurant negative reviews because they’re not familiar with the different type of rice they serve. I thoroughly enjoyed my jollof rice and goat meat and the service was great! I’ll be using them to cater my next birthday party.

The food was awful. I ordered jollof rice with bell peppers and oxtail. The oxtail was so small and tough it was hard to chew. The jollof rice was awful. The only thing that was good was the plantains. I don’t usually write bad reviews, but this food was awful. The rice had a bad burnt smell, and the oxtail had no taste. I ordered two portions of jollof rice and oxtail, and they both came out awful.

I ordered the pepper soup and it was not pepper (light soup) soup.it was salty water with browning absolutely no tomato base at all with pieces of bone of goat meat. This was awfully serve to me as a take out. I wish it was not late too return this bowl of salty water. No where near authentic. I really wanted this meal for warmth and illness. It was a horrible $20 wasted!!! I DO NOT NEED another apology for not meeting my expectations. You are a place of business that SUPPOSED to provide a service to customers. With the way the economy is today and keeping your business afloat with food orders at your place of establishment costing $20-$30, it’s like you’re providing dishonest services. Make good to the customers that spend their hard earned money. No you cannot please everyone, but there is absolutely some way to know with all the dissatisfied reviews your establishment is raking in. No apology for me. Remake my meal correctly for what I spent….Period!!!

The food is amazing you just have to know what to order. The Banga Soup with Chicken and fufu is the best hands down! I eat it almost everyday and do not need another meal all day afterwards. It is spicy, my second favorite is Spinach Soup then the okra (this one is extremely spicy to me). The egusi soup is not good to me but thats my preference. I do not think it’s the restaurants fault just my pallet prefers the banga instead. The only con is it is pricey for the serving size I would like more soup if I’m spending $25-$30 each time.

Point One African Restaurant is hands down the best African restaurant I’ve ever had in Fayetteville and I say this as a DC native who’s had plenty of good African food. My go-to order is the okra soup with fish and fufu, plus a side of jollof rice. I get it every time because it’s that good!
The flavors are rich, the portions are generous, and if you’re a fan of spice, you’ll love it even more.
On top of the food, the customer service is excellent. They make you feel welcomed and taken care of, which makes the whole experience even better. If you’re looking for authentic, flavorful African cuisine in Fayetteville, this is the spot.

Fufu is amazing. The beef egusi soup was so so. I watched the person making it and she constantly put the beef in the microwave which made the meat really chewy. They should cook it in a slow cooker. ♀️ The flavors were amazing though.

My husband has been coming to this restaurant since he moved down here. He called yesterday for 2 orders of fufu with palm nut soup, 2 orders of peppered gizzards and some puff puffs.
Services
The girl answering the phone and taking orders was very unprofessional and rude to him. She placed him on hold to say to someone in the back. “It’s the white boy who drives the Nissan” WEIRD. Don’t ever speak on my husband EVER!!!
They are rude & nastiest and had the worst attitudes.
Food
The palm nut soup was half oil half soup and had no taste to it. We both struggled to eat it.
The peppered gizzards were not spicy and made in some tomato sauce
The puff puffs had an outer salty taste. Not sure what that’s about.
Anyways we will not be coming back here and don’t recommend anyone eating here. I could deal with the mediocre food but the service, HELL NO!!
