Absolutely horrible! Don’t waste your money here!

We stopped here expecting to get a good taste for lowcountry BBQ flavor at a fair price. Sadly, neither of these expectations were met.

Everyone in our party had the buffet. The bar looked grimy and very little choice of food. The food they did have was either bland or very overcooked and everything tasted like it was frozen. The only items from the bar that I found tolerable were the regular pulled pork and the baked beans.

The atmosphere of the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired as well. All of the tables are sticky and feature a grimy set of sauce dispensers and salt/pepper shakers. The doors to the “emergency exit,” office, and bathrooms were covered in a layer of dirt and looked like they hadn’t been wiped down in ages.

This is possibly the worst BBQ restaurant/grease trap I have ever been to. We promptly paid our overpriced check and left.

I found this place to be wonderful, it’s all in the time of day you go. Common sense tells you if you go to a buffet right before closing time foods not going to be as fresh as if it was the busiest time of the restaurants day. I loved the fact that there was fried chicken livers on the line!! I’m wishing it was open on Sundays cause I’d darn sure go there today!!

I will admit the first mistake was mine, I broke my rule of do not eat at a buffet when it’s not busy. Mac, hush puppies, and half the chicken was dry. Pulled pork was old and the house bbq? I’m not sure they have one.

Now for the things that are inexcusable. We were greeted at the door and that is the last time anyone said a word to us until we paid. I know I’m an outsider but this was the first time in edisto I felt like one. The ambience was non existent unless you think listening to the noisy cooler that greeted us at the door is fun to listen to.

I love BBQ but was very let down after having to wait 4 days until they were open. We promptly paid and went back to Waley’s

Some of the absolute best BBQ. Period. I have eaten BBQ all over the south, and this is some of the best. As with any good BBQ joint, you are not going there for the fine decor. You are going for good food in a friendly atmosphere.

We enjoyed the buffet, especially the good choice of vegetables! We went in at lunch time and there wasn’t a wait time. Friendly staff with laid back atmosphere.
