The food was good overall. My steak bistro had great flavor and was cooked well, although it came out more warm than hot. It didn’t take away from the taste, so it wasn’t worth complaining about. The only thing I didn’t really care for was the Old Fashioned I ordered. It tasted more like straight whiskey on the rocks than crafted cocktail. Aside from that, we enjoyed our visit and had a nice time. Definitely a pleasant spot with a good vibe and friendly service.
I would definitely recommend having reservations. Everyone here was really friendly and customer service was great including the bussers! The bread and butter they provided were good and the bread was nice and warm! We had their calamari which was really good and crispy with a slight kick to it. I really enjoyed the cherry pepper sauce and pickled onions with it! My husband and I got their handmade pastas. The fettuccine was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked! I got the mafaldine which was much lighter and I really enjoyed their handmade noodles but probably could have used more cheese and/or more sauce. Overall, we were very happy with their homemade pastas and the perfect chewiness to them. My husband loved their take on a dirty martini called some like it hot and enjoyed the blue cheese stuffed olives. It was a delicious drink! I had the harbor sunset drink which was okay and light. My only complaint is the restaurant gets very loud inside so you feel like you’re yelling to each other. Also, when we arrived and checked in the hostess mentioned she was waiting for the people to finish up (we were also 20 min late) and it seemed like other people were waiting for their table too but soon got seated on a Friday night. As we shifted towards the bar area to order a drink, the hostess mentioned to us that our table was free but she was waiting for the other table nearby to leave so we could have a little more space. The tables weren’t super close together so we said it’s okay we can sit down. While sitting there, it might been another 30-40 min until the other party left, so I’m glad we opted to sit down at our table because the closeness was really no big deal. I came here back when this place opened and haven’t been back in a very long time. I’m not sure why it’s taking so long to return but I will certainly be visiting again more often this year even if it’s ordering take out. Overall, the food is absolutely delicious and service is great! We will be coming back more often! Thanks again for a great experience!
The kitchen delivered superior plating, with our entrees that delivered amazing taste, so loaded with flavor , leaving you wanting for more.
Thank you to the Chef, his team , Rafael and his team
Cheers
Edit: back again 3 to 4 years later, unknowingly ordered same cocktail, same lentil ball app and same strawberry shortcake dessert!
Standouts were:
Plum point chowder $9- refreshing to find this delightful chowder after having clam chowder all summer long
Escargot in garlic parsley butter and pistachios $14- could smell fragrant garlic butter from miles away
point judith calamari $17 -was so tender and came with pickled red onion. We liked the pickle so much we asked if we could have some more.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner until after we left and saw $1 was added to our bill for that extra pickle without informing us. Wow.. what a petty service to charge for extra condiment.. as another reviewer mentioned they seem to be nickle and diming for petty things without informing diners..
