I have now been twice. The people are very hospitable and friendly and the food well cooked and flavorful. Both times I enjoyed Country Style Steak, Mashed Potatoes, and lots of gravy. The steak was fork-tender and very flavorful! On my first visit I tried their cucumber salad. The cucumbers were small diced which helped them absorb the sweet/tangy dressing. Very tasty! Last night I had my usual green beans which were well cooked and nicely seasoned.

It’s a quaint and classic place. The food was really good and very homey feeling. The waitress was so kind bless her heart. The food is very affordable too. Although the seats themselves are a bit in a rough shape, they are still usable and comfortable.

Food and service was great. Friendly people. Restaurant score was posted as 95.5 but the bathroom was terrible. Walls and floors were actually scary. Wish I had taken my camera in there. Thick build up of dirt/debris in all the corners and grout lines. Dirt/debris splashed on the walls in the stalls and by the sink. Heavy layer of dust on top of the stall walls. Made me afraid to see what the kitchen actually looked like.

Everything was delicious! We were passing through after picking my mom up at the airport and decided to stop for lunch. Friendly service that checked on us with good timing, clean and cozy atmosphere and the food was super fresh and tasted great.

Went in and 3 tables were waited on before us. We had to ask for drinks and told her we were ready to order. She said she was not the waitress and walked off. After waiting another half an hour finally take order. I ask for a small hamburger and she said I would have to order a half pound hamburger. I told her to forget it. I had arranged to meet my friend here for lunch on a Thursday. I’m not ashamed to admit that I chose Thursday because I had reviewed the daily specials and I really wanted the country style steak and fixings. But then her schedule changed and we met on Tuesday. Lately, I just can’t get enough shrimp and they had a 12 oz portion of fried gulf shrimp, so I ordered that with my two side choices of the hot chips and my mandatory two cups of ranch dressing and the fried squash. When she sat it down in front of me, she said, “small order of shrimp etc…”. I hadn’t remembered seeing a size choice but I thought I had missed it. Well, check out the picture. My plate was loaded with shrimp plus hush puppies! The light breading was seasoned really well and I could only eat about half. The hot chips were consistent in their crispness and the fried squash? OMG YUMMY! I polished those right off. My friend got the philly cheesesteak and hot chips. If you’re wondering how many cups of ranch she ordered, also two. You don’t get to be my bestie if you order 1 ranch! I really wanted to try the chocolate eclair cake but I was stuffed. Normally, I would have taken it to go but I wasn’t going straight home and it was like 300 degrees outside, so nope. The checks aren’t priced but I was expecting it to be $15 for the shrimp plus the tea. It rang up as $8.99 plus the tea. That’s right, they only charged me for the Senior Meal which was 8 oz of shrimp. While I don’t “think” I look 65, I really appreciated the huge savings. .

I haven’t been here in two years. What a disappointment because I used to eat here all the time 8 years ago. The baked chicken was my favorite. Well today the chicken and rice was so bad I couldn’t eat. The chicken was so dry that I couldn’t choke it down. The rice was dry. The mashed potatoes which used to be much much better had no taste at all .. even the gravy was bland. The green beans were not stringed so I couldn’t eat those for not be able to chew the strings. Hence, why you serves STRINGED green beans. The bills was just shy of $20 with the tip for one person. Unfortunately, the past history has not stayed the same. I hate that, but I won’t be back. I will be taking the chicken home to my dogs. The picture doesn’t really help. Trust this – chicken was extremely DRY. Maybe the owners will read this and make their food worth the money they are charging.
