Plaza Azteca never disappoints! The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and served hot. The atmosphere is clean, vibrant, and perfect for a family meal or a night out.
A special shout-out to our wonderful waitress — she was friendly, patient, and incredibly attentive the entire time. She checked on us often, made great menu recommendations, and made the whole experience even better. You can really tell she cares about her customers!

Delicious dinner spot. We didn’t do the table side guacamole but our entrees did come with a good portion of guacamole. Food was delicious and sizes were generous.

We stopped in for dinner a group of us. The food was amazing. What was even more amazing was that they made the guacamole in front of us and it was delicious. The platters are really good and a bunch of us got the seafood chimichangas which were amazing the sauce and the chips were also amazing and the service was great. Shout out to our guy server, Angel. We will definitely be back.

What an awesome experience! The restaurant was beautifully decorated. We were greeted by our server who was very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent, very delicious! This visit here was for a special birthday dinner for me and they delivered a wonderful birthday meal! We will go back on our next trip to the Outer Banks!

We were staying in Nags Head, NC when a coupon book at our hotel caught my 11-year-old’s eye – Plaza Azteca Mexican Restaurant in Kill Devil Hills looked promising. Google showed a solid 4.4 stars and it was just an 8-minute drive, so we decided to give it a try.
The overall experience was really good. The presentation of food was on point, the drinks were colorful and fun (check out the layered frozen drink we tried!), and the service was attentive and friendly.
But here’s why I had to take away one star: the chicken fajitas were not served sizzling. They came in a regular plate instead of a hot cast iron griddle, so while the flavor was definitely there, the chicken became chewy as it cooled off mid-meal. That sizzling effect isn’t just flair – it helps maintain the texture and temperature.
That said, we’d definitely consider coming back if we’re in the area again. The ambiance was comfortable, and the overall quality of the food made this a memorable dinner stop during our OBX visit.

We got to drunk and needed a delivery order. Doordash had PA and it covered the craving we were having. The prices were very fair for the quantity of quality food that was delivered. It was all DEEELICIOUS. My only complaint is there was hardly any pineapple in my pineapple meal. None the less it was fantastic. Will definitely get food from here again.

While in obx, we ordered on doordash to our hotel, and I just had to write a review. The food was absolutely delicious. I can’t imagine what it would be like at the restaurant. It arrived hot, and everything was accurate.

Great service and huge portions! We had the plantain appetizer and it was delicious. My husband had the fried rice with cheese sauce w/ chicken and shrimp—loved it! I had the chicken fajita salad, the chicken was cooked perfectly. Next time we’ll share an entree! But we’ve got great leftovers. 🙂
