Enjoyed an evening meal with friends. Recently relocated back to Harlingen. A while when I worked at TSTC we would come to Platillo’s for lunch. We always had terrific service and great food. Tonight was just like old times.

I have never had a bad experience in a Mexican restaurant but this place was just horrible. Opened at 11 got there at 11:20 ordered taco soup. Cold no flavor watered down. Other customers got chips we were just overlooked.

Stopped here based on a local recommendation. Lots of seating if you want to stay. I got mine Togo.
The food was hot and had lots of flavor, not greasy. For 2 tacos, there was more food than I expected. It was filling and satisfying. Even the beans were great and I don’t usually care for borracho beans.
It came out fresh so it took a little while but no longer than most places. The staff were helpful and patient. I’d love to try some other dishes here!

We didn’t care for the food. I paid $12 for a salad with grilled chicken thinking it would be a big salad. No it was not. Still hungry when I left.

This was my first visit. Had the mole enchiladas. Very tasty I thought the rice was very good as well as the beans. No real lemonade, only bad thing. Would definitely come here again. Oh, tacos al pastor aren’t really that; they are more like fajita tacos.

You need to try their beef fajitas. The beef fajita panchos were spot on! Came hot and ready to scarf down. You’ll thank me later, lol. I got the tampiquena….skirt fajita and crispy taco were good, the enchilada had excellent flavor but the tortilla was a little too chewy for me. I’d still recommend this plate, just ask them to use a fresh tortilla to make the cheese enchilada. Loved the mashed beans. Chock full of flavor, not greasy at all. I’ll be going back soon!! 🙂
