Finally made it to The Plant Cafe for lunch and it exceeded every expectation. The burger was fantastic, but those homemade pickles are a total game-changer! What really sets this place apart, though, is the atmosphere. The owner is incredibly welcoming and took the time to share some fascinating local history and stories about Waycross with us. It’s rare to find a spot that offers both an original, high-quality menu and such a deep connection to the community. A must-visit in downtown Waycross!

Husband ordered the Obadiah sandwich and I got The Phoenix salad with a scoop of crab.
Sandwich was very fresh as well as the salad.
We found the restaurant to be very clean and the owner is very friendly.
Marla sat and talked to us about the history of the restaurant.
This is a must stop just not on the weekends!

We travel severel times a year. Finding these type places are a miracle. The decor is amazing. The service was wonderful. Just a wonderful experience. A rare jewel in a jungle of fast food. I had the okeesmoking. Hand made beef patty, grilled onions and jalapenos, on a butter toasted bun. The side of sweet dill pickles and FRESH were amazing. Well done and quite enjoyable. Wel worth a return trip

Greatest root beer float I’ve had in a while! Once you walk inside you feel nostalgia in the air with all the decor. The waitress and owner were the friendliest people I’ve ever met. Food was fantastic and great atmosphere. Hands down and place to check out in Waycross!

I love this place. It’s so packed with memorabilia that while you’re sitting there looking around, you don’t even realize how much time has gone by and then your food is in front of you. The owners are wonderful.
I ordered a reuben which under their menu was under a different name. It came crispy, it was not soggy as so many places give you a soggy sandwich, this was nice and crispy on both sides. The lunch came with potato chips and bread and butter pickles. I ordered sweet tea to drink and the tea could have been a little sweeter, but it was still very good and refreshing.
This restaurant is great for lunch . They are not open friday, saturday or sunday. Hours all other days 11 to 3.

I enjoy supporting local restaurants over big chains. This place has a good vibe inside with friendly staff and great music! The handmade hamburger had a perfect amount crisp on but was a little dry. The bacon was too crispy and the chili on the chili dog tasted like a canned variety. If I came back through waycross I may not stop here but if I did I would get the hotdog.
