I really struggled with my review on this place and leaving it a three-star and maybe not lower. I absolutely hate leaving less than positive reviews for local mom and pop type restaurants. However I’m just going to tell it how it came because I was really disappointed. I’ll start with the Ruben, it was the most expensive Reuben I think I’ve ever got and had the least amount of corned beef on any Reuben I have ever had in my life. The sandwich tasted great so I was really unhappy with the price versus what I got. The shrimp basket was fine. The atmosphere of the place is really nice laid back and chill with a cool interior.

This place was a unexpected stop but not one to be forgotten. Built in the 1830’s and used as a doctor’s office, this place has lots of charm. The food was just what we needed to fill ourselves. A burger smothered in mushrooms and onions with a bit of a crunch from the bun. All in all of you ever find yourself in the area stop in for some history and a bite to eat

Five stars without blinking! I didn’t take long to think about that. We were just passing by and I needed to use the restroom. That was the best stop I think I’ve ever made. The Tavern is beautiful inside and so are the patrons that were there. We ended up staying for an hour and a half to 2 hours. The only thing that was missing was we didn’t get to try their food because the kitchen had already closed for the day. However, we did get to see a plate of the special that day and it looked really delicious and smelled even better. As a previous restaurant owner I was totally surprised when I saw the dining room in the back. This place is awesome! Don’t pass it by stop in and say hello. The owner is awesome! And so were the patrons. We had a hard time leaving because the conversation was so good! This place is an hour from home and it’s not going to bother me to take the drive and go back and visit.

We stopped in for a quick drink on our way up north. The bartender was very pleasant and cheerful. We utilized the patio to have our drinks outside, because sunshine.
We have not experienced the food menu personally, but seeing the plates of other customers, I looks and smells amazing!

We love Plank Road Tavern we stumbled upon it a few weeks ago passing through McCuthensville, We stopped and had a fabulous meal So good that we’ve been back 2 more times. I think were making this our new place to eat. They have so many things on there menu the I got the bacon cheese burger and fries and my husband gets the pork chops. The meals are consistent the service is great, the people are freindly And the music is awesome to me that’s what makes a night out fantastic. The building its self has been around for many years with many different owners but this owner comes out and talks to you, he waits on you and make sure your needs are met. With that said you should try them out you wont be disappointed.

Burgers were great! Toasted bun! Chippers (house made potato chips) were better than the fries! Bread pudding was scrumptious. Served warm with whiskey sauce! Jalapeño poppers were savory!
Service was good, but the wait was long. We didn’t mind since the beverages were cold!
Unique tavern atmosphere. It’s a very very old building and has some wonky odors from the plumbing.

Food was great! Got 4 cheeseburgers, 2 with fries, 2 with onion rings (as we were told this was all that was available on the menu today). Onion rings were some of the best I’ve had. We also got 3 coca colas and somehow the bill was $54. They need to update the prices on here as that is waaaay off what is advertised on Google.
