This is our first time here since the new ownership. We love the tables and the atmosphere here. Everyone is extremely nice and the owner is really funny guy! We had teriyaki steak with salad and rice. Meat was tender and great flavor. The other dish was teriyaki chicken also great flavor. Tempura was crispy and the miso soup very tasty.!

Owner and his manager are here and serving, they are from Korea, the good Korea. Sushi chefs are Japanese and awesome. Food is delicious, amazing, mouthwatering, beautiful… I simply do not have enough epithets to describe the quality and taste of this art.

Wonderful, my daughter was so excited getting to eat at the sushi bar and watching them make our favorites.
Food was good quality, price is alittle high but worth it, atmosphere was wonderful, service was friendly and attentive.

The owner is present everytime I visit. He has brought back all of the best things that we loved about the Aki Hana that existed here for 40 years!
It is now Genki! It means to be in good spirits and good health!
This restaurant has maintained about 8 original employees, including original chefs. The few new staff are from the best of other local restaurants. I knew them already. They are beyond attentive. The absolute best! They love their jobs and do a great job!
The food is from the same supplier and the food is made the same. Nothing has changed. Please come visit our communities favorite Japanese restaurant. Everything is the same.
I promise. New owner, same passion. He is a Hero! He really saved the real number 1 Japanese restaurant around! Our family owes him our immense gratitude!

We arrived at 8PM on a Friday night. Got seated immediately.
Fresh and great quality sashimi! We ordered 3×3 sashimi, Uni nigiri, chirasi bowl, and 2 rolls. All were delicious.
Services were prompt. We didn’t felt rushed either.

We visited Genki Sushi last week! Let me tell you we were impressed. Upon arriving I was greeted immediately by a lady (later I found out she was the owner) and the husband greeted us as well. Place had a nice crowd for a Friday night, but we were seated right away.
The venue is big with plenty of seating areas. We were hoping to watch the baseball game and it turns out they had several TVs playing the game! Yay! We had some cold Asahis and several rolls..I asked if they made Dynamite Bowl and they did, nucely baked with sea food. It was delicious just like we imagined. Happy to have found a nice place for great sushi.
The owners talked to us at the end they were super nice and for sure will be back!

Great sushi! It’s hard to find a great sushi restaurant, but when you do, you hold onto it. This one has all of the makings to be one of the best in San Diego. Friendly owner who checks on his customers, cares about quality, and very clean! I ordered a rainbow roll, miso soup, and seaweed salad and all three were great. I recommend this sushi restaurant, and will definitely be back for more. I hope to see you there!

Great to have a very good new sushi bar step into the very big shoes of Shen of Osaka who had been in this location for 40 years until Fumio the great retired! We had an excellent experience with delicious fresh sushi and nice portions!! So relieved to have this new place in the neighborhood!
