The fresh bread was very nice! It was warm and delicious. There was butter on the table, but we used the olive oil for dipping. The oil was of good quality! We ordered the Brushetta for an appetizer. My only complaint with the entire meal was that the bread for the Brushetta was a bit on the crunch side and I had to cut it in pieces for the kids, but there was quite a bit of toppings and the fresh Mozzarella was quite tasty! My husband initially ordered the lamb medium rare. I ordered the “not on the menu yet” Crab-stuffed Flounder, and the kids shared an order of Chicken Parmesan and an order of meatballs. The waitress came back and informed us that they had no lamb because they were taking it off of the menu. She informed us that not many people ordered the lamb, and since it was fresh, he decided to take it off of the menu instead of freezing it. While disappointed, we would much rather have it taken off the menu than served to us from frozen. (A little later she informed us that if we were to make reservations at least 2 days in advance, we could special order the lamb for that evenings dinner.) He ended up ordering the Seefood al forno.
When we got our entrees, they were presented very nicely with no sauce on the rims of the plates or mess. My flounder took up the entire center of the plate, and was stuffed with a large amount of delicious crab. My husbands Seafood was prepared very nicely! The lobster tail was cut in half, the scallops, while didn’t have any browning, were cooked very well and not rubbery, the shrimp had a very delicate seasoning on them, and the broth was simply amazing! The kids did share a plate, but they separated it onto 2 plates. I’m not sure if the Chicken Parm normally comes with 2 and a side of spaghetti, but, both plates had a full Chicken Parm on them. The pasta could have used some salt in the water while cooking to add some flavor to it, but, it was cooked just right, to al dente. We shared the Tiramisu. I did think it was a bit small for the $6 we paid for it, but overall, it was quite good!
Overall we were quite impressed with Pizzuti’s and will definitely be back!
And for those of you saying “save your money and go to Olive Garden?” You should know that Olive Garden is like comparing McDonalds to Peter Luger Steak House. Olive Garden is a fast food “Italian Style” restaurant, not real Italian cooking.
