Good ice cream. Small servings. We had good food here and the pizzas are super! Bistro Italian coffee. Personally I like the terrace right at the Blumenplatz with nearby cheap parking and sunshine.The Di Martinos run this for 30 years.

We had very tasty and good quality meals. The meat was tender and cooked to perfection. The pizza was very good. And the pasta was delicious. At the end we had some ice-cream and was delicious as well.

We visited as a group of 7 adults and 2 children. Unfortunately, our experience was underwhelming. My ice cream took quite a while to arrive, and when it did, it was already half-melted. The counter wasn’t far from our table, so I’m not sure what caused.
What really stood out, though, was the staff’s behavior. They seemed to be constantly aggressive toward each other, which created a tense and uncomfortable atmosphere. It was a shame, as it really affected the overall experience.
The only positive note was the nice weather, but that’s hardly enough to make up for the rest. Wouldn’t rush back here.

Very good Italian food. I got to talk to the waitress a bit and hear her story, where she is from. She was very nice. Would definitely come again. I’m reading that there are a lot of reviews regarding unfriendliness from a worker. I did not experience that, but out of the two male workers that I experienced, one was friendly, the other was a bit aloof.i did not experience unfriendliness, but I could see it happening from the one guy. Hopefully the staff have a healthy conversation with this person, because its affecting their business. Other than that, the food, atmosphere was very italian, which means very very good 🙂

The owner makes everyone uncomfortable and thinks he is being funny when he is actually very rude. We have been here a few times over the years simply because we came to Kandern for the day. He treats his staff very poorly. Everyone seemed very uncomfortable and watched as he yelled to his staff to work quicker and clean quicker. I cannot stress enough how rude he was and how horribly he spoke down to his staff! He ruined the atmosphere. I will NEVER again support this business.
* We had no personal experience today with the owner because he never smiled or said hello even after passing our table at least a dozen times. This is usually not the case as we were speaking Italian to the waitress and from our experiences in Müllheim, Bad Krozingen, Neuenburg etc. always have a small conversation with the owners who make themselves available in a friendly way.
It was everything we observed that made me have to share today’s experience.

While, for some, the service can be an acquired taste, I’ve been going for years. The food is good and It’s been a great spot for work lunches and evening outings in Kandern.

Very rude owner who wasn’t able to make changes to a salad. Next to us he had a heated discussion with a woman who complained her ice coffee wasn’t cold. Don’t start a restaurant if you don’t like customers.
