Notably, the prices of the pizzas make me cringe & they depreciate my enjoyment considerably. I can imagine that importing quality ingredients is costly, but I just can’t mentally justify paying $23 for a flaccid cheese pizza when I could wait and pay $14 for a large cheese pizza that knocks my socks off back in NJ/NYC. The flavor is there in terms of sauce, but for me, I would need a pizza to be a slam dunk to feel OK shelling out that kinda cash.
That being said, I honestly look forward to going to Pizzeria Ruby- just not for the pizza. I would instead recommend getting the chicken parm & pasta dishes- they are well-made and fairly priced (though you shouldn’t expect many leftovers). I love that they have vodka sauce here. I also order the meatballs on the side & they’re super flavorful and moist. I also loved the cannoli when they offered it!
Less objective feedback:
The service has not impressed me, & it’s not the most welcoming space. 3 out of the 4 times that I dined in, I felt uncomfortable trying to get seated when my table was ready because the staff was viscerally standoffish/inattentive to the point I felt insulted. The initial sour vibes were also felt by my parties, but our servers were always professional & good at their jobs after being seated. Maybe something can be done to ease FOH stress with seating (not sure if my encounters were with diff servers or the hostesses). I wouldn’t normally say anything but it’s happened 3/4 times and it is off-putting lol.
The atmosphere is nice in terms of lighting/aesthetics. It feels crowded like a pizza parlor, but you’re not sitting on top of one another. The extensive wait times are pretty rough so it’s best to get there early & join the digital queue as there’s nothing to do nearby except wait in your car.
Lastly, I appreciate the business investing in their community. Their donations to AIRE, their stance against ICE, & their industry nights are other positive things that ensure I keep coming back.
The music was loud but it is a fairly small place so I think it has to be; so you’re not a part of the next table’s conversation 10/10
