Planta Café is a now an established eatery situated right in the heart of Elgin delivering one of the best menus and customer service experience to its community. Inspired by the love affair with the Neapolitan cuisine, we decided to transform our eatery into the first Neapolitan pizzeria in Elgin so that we could share with everyone in the area the passion and respect we have for pizza. These Neapolitan methods that we’ve adopted into our own, are the healthiest and most authentic way of celebrating and giving life to a cuisine steeped in cultural heritage. Really disappointing today. Ordered a “rich” ragu pappardelle that was watery, filled with courgette and carrot ribbons, and served with tagliatelle pasta not pappardelle. It was bland and tasted of very little, certainly not rich and comforting like I have had at other restaurants. I have had excellent meals before in Planta, so this was very disappointing. Service was good, the girls were very attentive, but there was a long wait for food, where tables around us who ordered after us received their food before us.

Every time I have been to Planta we have had exceptional service. The soup has always been really great when we have had it for lunch, the pizza is super tasty and the garlicy chips were divine. The breakfasts have also been very good. The French toast I had this week with the bacon and banana was incredible. Thank you Planta for such a fantastic restaurant in the centre of Elgin. Keep up the great work.

Pizzeria Planta is an inviting restaurant from the outside and is very well laid out inside. The internal decor is nice and the access is disabled friendly.
There are two aspects to our visit that could do with improving to make the overall experience 5 stars. Some staff members could do with customer training as they clearly were having a bad day which made us feel is if we were a burden. The toilets could do with a refurbishment as it just spoils the atmosphere they are working hard to create.
The food is exceptionally beautiful and tasty and I would highly recommend.
There was a staff member with glasses who was a pleasure to deal with and made us feel welcome.

Finally a place to get real authentic Neapolitan pizzas in Elgin. A great menu and great atmosphere. There are plenty of pizzas on the menu to cater to all tastes, with a decent selection of appetisers and desserts too. The owner is excellent and even took the time to check in on us after our meal to see how everything was. I couldn’t recommend this place enough and really hope it stays as successful as it initially appears to be. I’ll certainly be back for more.

I’m sad to say this used to be my favourite restaurant, but my recent visit was really disappointing. The pizza arrived mushy, and the gnocchi was so starchy it kept sticking to my mouth at one point I honestly felt like it was choking me. Not once did anyone come over to check how our meal was going, and when a server came to clear the plates, I mentioned the gnocchi. They just said they’d “pass it on” and that was the end of it.

Fantastic food and drink. The staff were excellent. We took our dog as we were on holiday with the dog. When I asked the waitress if there was a section, we could have our dog, she said. “The dog can be anywhere in the restaurant. We welcome dogs.” The staff were so lovely and bought our wee pup water. The food was excellent and the coffee was the best I’ve had in Scotland for a long time! Congratulations guys, keep up the great work.

The breakfast and lunch menus have a good variety, fav go tos are eggs royale or the pancakes. Pizza is so good and the BLT for lunch. Staff are friendly and attentive, restaurant has a pleasant decor and always clean.

We absolutely loved this place! The food was amazing! Had the avocado, halloumi, poached egg, as well as the Principessa Pizza. Both perfect. The atmosphere was great, music choice on point, and the servers (Evie and Taylor) were wonderfully friendly and efficient! Can’t wait to return!

We visited today – whilst driving through. A very lively place to eat – with good staff, and an extensive food and drinks menu.
The food arrived and we were all pleased with our choices. The poached eggs with our dishes were cooked to perfection.
The prices weren’t too expensive.

First and last time having a meal at Planta Pizzeria.
Soggy bottom and burnt crust. Pizza was swimming in sauce / tomatoes if my pepperoni wanted to cross my pizza it would have wanted a boat.
Service was mediocre. Shown to our seats with a wave of the arm. Then tatty menus handed to us , unless they were going for a vintage look.
Order taken. once order was delivered that was the last time we saw a waitress. If one had come over like normaly happens in restaurants to see if everything is ok I would have highlighted the problems then, rather than at end of meal.
As a diabetic I require to take insulin and once I have taken it the clock starts to count down to a hypo caused by taking insulin and not getting my meal un time or having to ask for a replacement due to poor prep ect.
Im a trained chef I’ve worked in pizzeria’s across the UK as well as some of the top restaurants in the highlands of Scotland. I heard good things about them so thought I would give it ago.
