Disappointing experience for takeaway. I came to Piccolo Cesare because of the strong Google reviews and was looking forward to trying their pizza, but the service was unexpectedly unfriendly. As a foreign visitor who doesn’t speak the local language, I felt unwelcome (and even hostile), as if the staff preferred to serve only locals or dine in customers.

It made the entire experience uncomfortable. Maybe good for locals, but I wouldn’t recommend this place to other tourists / anyone visiting from out of town in general looking for a warm or hospitable environment.

The pizza dough, texture, and flavours were actually good, but the execution was sloppy. Overall, I would rate the food itself 4 out of 5, but the service and treatment bring the entire experience down to a 2-star visit.

Good food should be paired with good service & thoughtful execution; unfortunately that was not the case here.

Wow, just wow
We ate here Saturday night after a local recommended it to us. We ordered a Margherita with buffalo cheese & La Parmigiana Melanzane, a glass of red and Fanta for €32.50, very reasonable for quality food and one of the best pizza I’ve ever eaten. The staff were lovely and so helpful. It was a great experience, I totally recommend.

Absolutely delicious. We ordered a Focosa and a Margherita, the food arrived in just minutes, very fast service and we were served even though the restaurant was completely busy, the owner is also very friendly and kind to get us a seat even with no reservation. Best pizzas in Florence, you must come!

We had dinner at this place after scrolling different sources to find out one authentic place for pizza. I told the owner that I wanted something with full of cheese and tomato and he introduced one that had those two with a bit of spicy touch. My partner had four cheese even there is no such dish on the menu. I love how juicy it is with tomato taste. I think no one will be dissatisfied coming to this place.

The best pizza I’ve had in Italy! The dough is crunchy and yet like a pillowy cloud at the same time. Every ingredient is of the highest quality and service was friendly and accommodating! Prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity you get. Worth taking the tram from the city center to check out this pizza!

Highly recommend! This pizza joint is frequented mostly by locals
Pictures and reviews of Piccolo Cesare on Google Maps provided enough impetus to add it to our must try list. We showed up at the restaurant without a reservation around 7:30 PM. The guy who greeted us spoke good English. He told us we could have a table but needed it back by 9:30 PM – no problem. We got an English menu. There were too many selections but not enough belly room. We went with the carbonara and La Napoli pizzas. Both pizzas arrived quickly and hot. The aroma of the crusts from the wood burning oven was devine. The bottom of the pie had the perfect amount of firmness. The outer crust had a slight crisipiness. Ingredients tasted fresh. Both pizzas were really good. This place deserves to be on your list of restaurants to try. We will definitely eat there again if we make it back to Florence. One bad thing(???) is that tourists are finding their way here – like us. Sorry locals, we promise to visit only during off-peak seasons.

I highly recommend making a reservation if you want to eat inside this small restaurant. But many came in for take out. The Pizzas are made very quickly so you do not have to wait long. The pizza dough was very light and tasted great.

Stayed close by and ate here twice in a week. The pizza is stupendous — the crust is perfectly charred, the toppings plentiful but not overdone. I had a campangola and the one of the options listed on the chalkboard — with radicchio, speck, and burrata. I cannot tell you how unbelievably delicious the second pizza was. Both times house red wine, and once the Vesuvius for dessert. Each time I went early aware that it is a smallish place and as a single diner I didn’t want to occupy a whole table during rush. They also to take away/to go pizza. They have an English menu but check the wall for other options. The waiter I had also spoke English; not expected but welcome since my Italian is very poor. If you’re anywhere in the area, go!

Our hotel was close by and we had dinner here a couple times because their pizzas were so good.

We ordered piazza and the prosciutto with barratta cheese.

This place is busy during dinner time so make reservation or come in early when they open or later in the evening.

People working there are very friendly and we had a great time there.

Title: Pizzeria Piccolo Cesare Napoletana: Convenient Location, Quick Service, Average Pizzas

Rating: ★★★☆☆

During our visit to Florence, we stumbled upon Pizzeria Piccolo Cesare Napoletana as we parked our car nearby. Attracted by its positive reviews, we decided to give it a try. While the experience was satisfactory overall, it fell short of meeting our high expectations, offering decent pizzas at a medium price point.

Convenience played a significant role in choosing this pizzeria. Its proximity to the parking garage made it a convenient option for a quick meal. However, this popularity came at a cost, as the place was bustling with customers. As a result, we had to share a table, which was not ideal for a more intimate dining experience.

The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the swift service. The pizzas arrived at our table with impressive speed. This efficiency could be attributed to the pizzeria’s well-organized operation. However, the quick turnaround also made us question the authenticity of the traditional Neapolitan pizza-making process. It left us wondering whether the dough had been given enough time to rise and develop its desired flavors.

In terms of taste, the pizzas at Piccolo Cesare Napoletana were decent but didn’t quite live up to the hype. While they were enjoyable, they lacked that special touch that would elevate them to the level of extraordinary. The toppings were satisfactory, but the crust, an essential component of any great pizza, fell short of the authentic Neapolitan standard. It lacked the desirable charred edges and pillowy texture that characterize a truly exceptional pizza.

Regarding the prices, I must admit that they were on the higher side for what was offered. The value for money was not exceptional, especially when considering the overall experience and taste. While we didn’t leave the pizzeria feeling disappointed, we couldn’t help but feel that we had paid a premium for a meal that was merely satisfactory.

The staff at Piccolo Cesare Napoletana were courteous and attentive, providing the necessary service without going above and beyond. While not particularly memorable, they ensured that our dining experience proceeded smoothly.

In conclusion, Pizzeria Piccolo Cesare Napoletana is a decent option for a quick bite, particularly if you’re in the vicinity and seeking convenience. The pizzas are satisfactory, albeit falling short of exceptional, and the service is efficient. However, considering the medium price range and the abundance of other notable pizzerias in Florence, it may be worth exploring other options for a truly outstanding pizza experience.
