I am writing to formally express my extreme disappointment regarding our first visit to your 1120 Smallwood Drive location on Friday February 20th. My husband and I were looking forward to dining with you, but the experience was entirely unprofessional and I fell well below basic service standards.
We encountered several significant issues during our meal:
• Excessive Noise and Service Errors: The music was so loud that our waiter could not hear us properly. This resulted in him asking for my husband’s order twice and still delivering the wrong dish (catfish instead of crab cakes).
• Poor Hospitality: When I mentioned it was our first time visiting, the waiter offered no welcome or appreciation. We felt ignored rather than valued as new customers.
• Unprofessional Staff Behavior: Throughout our meal, we observed staff members at the bar drinking alcohol, using foul language, and behaving as if they were at a private party. This environment was chaotic and highly unprofessional for a place of business.
• Quality of food: When the food finally arrived – after a long wait for the corrected crab cakes – the entire meal (including my shrimp and scallop basket) was completely unseasoned and lacked flavor.
We spent $100.00 on a dinner that was marked by errors, unprofessionalism, and poor quality. As a first-time guest, this was a discouraging experience. I would like to know how you intend to rectify this situation and what steps you are taking to ensure your staff maintains a professional environment for paying customers.

I purchased the green mussels special. In the boiler bag there were 8 mussels, 8 shrimp, 8 sausages, 1 cluster of legs, 2 corn on cob, and w potatoes. I have purchased this in the past. What happen to 12 each, mussels, shrimp and sausage? The price went up and the quantity went down?

Upon walking in there I was greeted by friendly people and expected my visit to be phenomenal however after being brought to our table we got a waiter and he took our orders and everything was okay we got our food and he just disappeared. We only had one pair of gloves we asked two different people if we could get extra gloves and nobody brought it until our waiter reappeared despite disappearing, he delivered excellent service I would visit again and the food was amazing.

Crafty Crab is really good if you like seafood boils. Went with my mom, I did a custom boil and added an egg it was awesome. It’s definitely messy, but they give you a bib and everything you need. The flavors were great and it’s a fun seafood spot if you’re craving a big boil.

Ordered the King Crab boil bag with the Boom seasoning and medium spice level. Added eggs and sausage. Flavor was great! However, the crab legs were extremely overcooked. Like day old crab legs. I was surprised and disappointed. My birthday is today and I have been wanting this for a while so my friends recommended this restaurant although they order from a different restaurant. $85 down the drain. Will not order from this location but will give another location a try. For the amount of money spent, this should not happen.

I recently had a disappointing experience at Crafty Crab in Waldorf, Maryland and I feel compelled to share my feedback. Unfortunately, I can only give this establishment a one-star rating due to the numerous issues I encountered during my visit.
First and foremost, the service at Crafty Crab was simply terrible. Our waiter, Evan, was missing for the entire duration of our visit. We had to meet with the manager just to locate him. This lack of attention to the customer was extremely frustrating and left us feeling neglected.
To make matters worse, the food we received was cold and there were several missed and wrong orders. It was clear that there was a lack of care and attention to detail in the kitchen. Furthermore, we were never offered refills on our water or drinks. We had to request another off-duty staff member to bring us watered-down drinks that had been sitting at the bar.
When it came time to settle the bill, we were surprised to see that an automatic 18% gratuity had been added for the poor service we received. Additionally, when we inquired about a military discount, they only added a 5% discount. This lack of consideration for our dissatisfaction was disheartening.
Even the quality of the food was disappointing. We had to ask for to-go boxes for our leftover wings, which were already terrible in taste, temperature, and appearance. This was a stark contrast to my previous positive experiences at this location, and it was truly disappointing.
Adding to the disappointment was the atmosphere of the restaurant. There were numerous staff and off-duty staff members congregating at the bar, which created a sense of unprofessionalism. Additionally, there was a security personnel who constantly walked around the restaurant with his kids, which made me feel unsafe and uncomfortable.
Throughout my entire visit, there was no offer from the manager or server to discount or offer any form of compensation to make up for the poor service and food. This lack of effort to rectify the situation left me with no desire to give this location another chance.
Unless immediate changes are made to address the issues I encountered, I will not be returning to Crafty Crab in Waldorf, Maryland. It is truly disappointing to see such a decline in the quality of service and food at a place I once enjoyed.

When we were seated at our table. We were given the menu and told our Waitress would be with us soon. There were at least 2 tables that were sat and put their orders in before we realized that our Waitress or waiter wasn’t told she or he had a table. We finally got the attention of another staff member and brought it to their attention. They took our order. The food was very good.

This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever experienced. They didn’t put my sausages, potato’s, I barely had even sauce on my food. Also, we also order 2 crabs and they only put 1 in the bag with a little bit of sauce and little bit of food and it was only 1 potato when it was suppose to be 4 potatoes. This in very unacceptable and disgusting. I’ve been coming to Crafty Crab for years and this is one of the worse experiences i’ve ever encountered.
