We went for lunch on Valentine’s Day about 1:30pm before they got super busy. Our food was delicious and drinks were perfect. I got a chefs steak and crab special which was pricey but worth it! I’d rather support a small business than chain restaurants. We loved our experience and are planning on going back to try the pizza

Stumbled upon this fantastic restaurant located in Burns Harbor when me and my parents were visiting Indiana Dunes National Park.
Very friendly servers, delicious food, nice little place still a cool ambiance and vibe!
We had the Margherita Pizza, Potato Gnocchi Pasta and Tomato Basil soup.

Didn’t get any photos like I usually do. If I’m in the area I’ll come back and get a few. Neat spot, love the attitude and decor of the place. The more you look around the more you can appreciate everything there is on the walls. Food was fantastic, love the wood fire oven. We got a pizza, the beef carpaccio, and the meatballs. Presentation and flavor were great. I loved my cocktail that I got. Service was good but they did fail to ask about refills or a different cocktail I might want. Over all very nice experience and will be back.

I can not write enough good things about Pizza Terra. The service was attentive and pleasant (even down to the pizza chef delivering our pizza) but the food is amazing! As a self entitled Italian food conessieur this was top notch to going to Italy as it gets. The ricotta and honey is the best thing I have eaten on years. The ricotta whipped and light and the honey the perfect sweetness with fluffy yet crunchy Italian bread. Pizza thin and crisp bursting with the right flavor (not oily or over done). Just perfect, can’t wait to go back.

We went because it’s a favorite place of the birthday we were celebrating. Upon ordering, the waitress told us that the restaurant is “family style” and the food would come out as it becomes ready. We were ALL confused by this. In my family, we all sit down and eat together, at the same time. My pizza came first, (The Raven) was good. It was different, which was expected, and delicious. It was cut into huge sections and very difficult to cut. Shared but they struggled too. Next came birthday girl’s lasagna. She said it was smaller than normal but still tasty. Her date had spaghetti and meatballs, it came third. He ate it and really didn’t comment one way or the other. Lastly, came my date’s “Mafaldine?” – hard to see menu online! was a last-minute change when he was told they do have ribeye on the menu. It was a pasta dish, and he said there was maybe 1 -1.5 ounces of shredded meat; it was very hard to find. He brought the leftover noodles home and added his own pork to it.
While we were still eating our dinners, birthday girl asked where her bread (Whipped Feta on the menu) was. We had heard about this from her even before we got there. The waitress looked at her like she was crazy and said that she’d be happy to get her some. Next visit to the table, birthday girl also asked about her salad that she ordered. This time, waitress apologized and said she’d bring both right away. I believe we got the salad next. Although vegetarian and LOVE salads, I did not care for this one – possibly because it wasn’t first nor before my sweet tasting pizza. Next came the bread/whipped Feta. Wow! That really is yummy! Lastly, as should be, dessert. Birthday girl shared her coconut creme pie – so good! And we also shared the “cookie creme brulee”. It was good, of course, BUT it had the typical crunchy top perfectly with what seemed like a thick pudding underneath. Very disappointing first time visit for me. Doubt I’ll ever go back. Birthday girl’s salad and dessert were comped.

Our first time dining there and it was outstanding. We went there with a group of couples and everyone was very happy with their meal. Casual atmosphere, great service, excellent food. Wood-fired pizza, salads, exceptional pasta dishes, sandwiches, and desserts. The brussel sprout appetizer is one of the best I’ve had, has a hint of sweetness and is heavenly. Other dishes we had that I’d definitely recommend: the whipped feta crostini, peach jam crostini, Margherita pizza, Pappardelle Bolognese(with italian sausage added), and the rigatoni w/ Italian sausage and lemon. Their italian sausage is very good. You can request it added to a pasta dish, it’s sort of crumbled. We weren’t quite sure what to expect going there, but we were more than pleasantly surprised. Cant wait to go back.

Update: went back again and had the same great experience. The food and service are outstanding. Many others must agree as well because the place was packed for a weekday evening. Make sure you try their desserts they are homemade in house and delicious!

I’ve driven past a million times thinking this was just a takeout place. What a mistake! I stopped in for lunch with my mom on a lark, and it was such a delight, that we came back the very same night with the whole family. The Caprese salad was excellent, with juicy, succulent tomatoes and fresh mozzarella. The pizza toppings are pre-set, creative and very delicious (we had the wild mushroom and the fennel sausage, but they all sounds great!). The crust is thin, with nice, chewy, slightly crunchy edges (perfect for mopping up leftover salad dressing ). Also worth mentioning were the very flavorful beef carpaccio, and the whipped ricotta honeycomb crostini appetizers.
I should also note that the service was excellent: prompt, friendly and personal. The music was not overwhelming, perfectly complementing the bustling evening atmosphere.
Definitely a new local favorite for us!! (No pics. We were too busy enjoying the food.)

We drove 22 miles to get there there for the first time on a Saturday evening. A lot of people were waiting. We were told 25 minute wait but it hardly took 10. They must turn the tables quickly. This is a great find if you want authentic Italian food. It is a small cozy place that gives out family vibes. Might be a bit noisy due to some rude people but don’t let that bother you. It adds to the charm of a friendly environment.
Food was fantastic and service was top notch. Our server Amber personified service with a smile that left us with a smile and wanting to come back. We had whipped feta crostini, gnocchi with pesto cream, baby arugula salad and a margherita pizza. This was as authentic a pizza as it gets. No frills, just basic good and fresh ingredients. Prices are very moderate. Just wish they were a little closer to home.

GREAT food! Props to the chef.
If your wanting good service go somewhere else. Waitresses are great with regulars or people they know. We had couple seated next to us AFTER we had ordered. They recieved their food before we got our appetizer. She checked on couples on either side of us throughout meal regularly. The gentleman telling our water wa kind and checked on us even though he was not our server. So thank you to him.
Also pizza terra. Squishing tables in so tight that I’m nearly bumping elbows with the people on both sides of me is a bit much. Your food is great so I understand your trying to accommodate for seating but it’s very awkward and uncomfortable experience. I much prefer to call and do take out but was previously told they don’t answer the phone bc “their busy.”Make what you’d like with that information.

On my recent visit to NW I diana my friend wouldn’t shut up about this place and when it was going to reopen and I imagined it was going to be like an overhyped movie that leaves you ultimately disappointed. NOPE! It absolutely lived up to the hype. Grand REOPENING was a huge success. We had the Caesar salad, brushetta, mushroom pizza and I am still dreaming about all of it. (I think its the fresh herbs they actually grow onsite) Everyone knows everyone and if you don’t, you will! It really is just THAT good!
