The pizza and chicken was good (not so much the other options – kind of flavorless), and the people were happy to make and serve us the pizza that was unavailable on the buffet at the time we walked in. However, the young guy teaching the newer worker how to go about explaining the different options we had for getting food there (buffet, take-out, or menu), was sort of acting like a know it all, and my husband and I felt bad for the kid at the register who was doing a fine job on his own and would have done fine to explain that to us himself I’m sure. The whole place seemed understaffed as it was very dirty, but they didn’t keep the food coming. The carpet in the back room could use updating. There was buffet food all over the floor and counter the entire time we were there. The kitchen through the doors looked a mess. It was loud (not their fault). And though I appreciated the help with getting the pizza that was missing off the buffet (though by the time we went up for food at the buffet, there was the kind I wanted after all, but since they were making it fresh, I held off for them to deliver it to my table for us to each take 2 slices of), we just think the guy at the front desk could have given his coworker a bit of space to succeed. I think that turned us off from the start.

I came in with a group today and honestly this was disappointing. The restaurant was very understaffed, but even with that, the food selection was extremely limited and most trays were nearly empty with no fresh food being brought out. When we asked politely if a few tables could be wiped down, the worker said he wouldn’t because they were short-staffed, yet he was wiping other tables nearby. There also weren’t any clean cups available. Overall, the place felt neglected and unorganized, which is unfortunate because Pizza Ranch usually has potential for a much better experience

We did arrive closer to closing Friday night. Hours have changed and the store closed at 7pm. We arrived at 6:30 and there was plenty of fresh chicken on the line there was no pizza. The only pizza put out between our arrival and leaving was a single pepperoni. There was quite a few other folks in the restaurant, 25-30 and the line was very picked over with no restock of pizza or the desert pizza. Pretty disappointing and the meal costs us $50 overall. While understanding that is was closer to closing time and not expecting a complete refill of the line there should be some fresh food and desert being out out given the number of people in the place.

Very small buffet, pizza was Great, the young kid taking care of us was great but the older kid was very rude and bossy to the younger kid. He complained about the pizzas that I had asked to be made the stacked the pizza slices on top of each other instead of putting them on different plates. Good thing I didn’t hear what he said when he walked away but my buddy did but he didn’t tell me until we were gone. I feel bad for the younger kid he was very eager to do his job and was very upbeat and all the older kid is going to do is bring his attitude down.

We got there around lunch on a Thursday and the food was plentiful and hot. Chicken was really good as was the dessert pizza. It wasn’t super busy so we had plenty of seating to choose from.

We were there around 2:30pm or so and were the only ones there. The lady who took our order when we came in said the buffet started at 5pm. We didn’t know they had a buffet. She was very friendly. We had pizza, chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy and chocolate chip cookie dessert. It was a combo of some sort. The pizza was good, I had pan crust. The chicken was a little overcooked but still good. My husband didn’t like the potatoes as they had garlic in them. The place was clean and very nice. It sits in a small strip mall. Would go there again.

Stopped here on the way to Spearfish. What a surprise! The buffet for lunch was 13.99 and included pizza salad and chicken dinner items with desert! Soft drinks and coffee included. The pizza was fresh and delicious. The chicken tasted like it was broasted and was moist and crispy outside. The Apple strudel and choc chip collie with soft serve ice cream was delicious! Clean and friendly staff!

This place has a buffet. When I was there, they offered a senior discount for lunch between 2 and 4 PM. It’s not gourmet food but it’s filling. The pizzas were varied and fresh. The fried chicken was very crispy and hot. I ate there during the rally. I appreciate real food from an established local restaurant over street food of questionable quality and sanitary practices. Will make this an annual stop.

We were here 330-430pm on 8/29/25. The vast majority of the food had clearly been siting under the lights for some time. It was all dried out. We could hear the staff visiting in the kitchen and laughing, clearly no one was watching the food or caring for customers. A young teen was working as a cashier, when we pointed out to her that the food was clearly old and had been sitting there for a while her response was “let me check”. She went into the kitchen, then didn’t speak with us again. We continued to wait as only one new pizza was brought out the entire time we were there, that one didn’t have any sauce on it but had sausage. We ate the salad and what we could, our plates remained on the table as no one was busing the tables. No clue what was going on with this place. We won’t be back.

This pizza ranch has improved so much since last summer! There was plenty of good fresh food. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The elderly lady at the cash register was so sweet and personable. She even cleared tables when not needed at the register. We have a meeting there every month and use the back room. They are very accommodating when we reserve it .
