I’m sad, because this place should have so much going for it. The taste and texture of the crust is among the best in the area, and the sauce is really good. But through several orders over multiple years, I could never understand why I kept getting skimped on sauce. Most pizza places have a very even layer of sauce coating its entirety, so that every single bite gets the crust, sauce, and cheese all together. The pizzas I got from Pizza Poggio would always have inexplicable areas where there was just cheese and no sauce underneath.

Recently, I tried ordering just a red pizza (no cheese, only sauce) and it seems like the problem unveiled itself. Check out the attached photo. Why are there so many areas where the crust is just bare, without sauce? How hard is it to spread sauce evenly? I want to love this place, but I keep getting disappointed and am not sure I’ll be back.

If I lived near here, I would eat here all the time! They have everything I want in a quick service restaurant. The pizza was excellent, it’s clear they use really good quality cheese and toppings. They also have soft serve ice cream with chocolate shell. They were trying out a rice crispy chocolate shell when I was there that was awesome. You can also order off the Jack Sprat Menu which was very convenient for more food and drink options.

We used to love Pizza Poggio for their consistently high-quality pizzas, and we’ve ordered from them many times because of that. Unfortunately, this time was a major disappointment–the quality has noticeably dropped, even compared to regular pizza chains.

We ordered two pizzas: the Boscaiola and the Chicken Sausage Lasagna Pizza. The Boscaiola came with plain white mushrooms and whole olives while their photo featured portobello mushrooms and dandelion greens. The presentation and ingredients just didn’t match what was advertised.

The lasagna pizza was also undercooked. The dough was slimy instead of having the crisp, chewy texture it’s supposed to. It really felt like a completely different pizza from what we used to enjoy.

I’m not sure if there’s been a change in ownership or if this was just due to poor execution in the kitchen, but unfortunately, I don’t think we’ll be ordering from here again based on this experience.

Update I appreciate the response and I think the first time I came was just a bad busy moment. Overall I think this place is great. Still hard to find parking tho.

Needs 3 more workers. Way over worked. Asked me to use the app when I called. Got here on time. Still not even close to ready. It’s a shame.

Ultra gentrified. And now it’s too confusing. Where do I get my food. From Jack sprat? From the pizza place?

Pizza was good for the area. Wish the crust was a little more crispier and had more cheese coverage(cheese quality is good btw). Sauce was on the sweeter side, but thePepperoni quality was good and cupped.

The best pizza on Eastside, IMHO. Love the thin and crispy crust, generous amount of topping. Fast and friendly service is also a great point.

Update: Be prepared for a long wait if you’re getting pizza in the evenings. They promised it would be ready in 15 minutes, but we ended up waiting 40 — without a single heads-up, apology or even a simple “thanks for waiting.” And staff acted like it’s completely normal. A little courtesy goes a long way. I understand that delays happen, but if you make a promise, at least acknowledge it and give your customers a heads-up when you can’t keep it. If I could take back my tip, I would.

Other than that, it is still…
Best pizza on Eastside, seriously! I love their Queen Margarita, always so fresh and absolutely delicious!

rating the soft serve only: doesn’t taste that good, icey consistency that melted quickly and the presentation was also bad. looked like a puddle of mud. definitely not high quality. also, they spent 15 minutes cleaning the machine when i arrived

I’m so happy that this place exists right downstairs from me! It’s honestly my favorite pizza I’ve had in Seattle. My go to is their Poggio Piccante, but I haven’t had a bad pizza. Their ingredients are high quality – enough that the salads are good aswell (especially the house). I haven’t to also add that I’ve never had bad customer service, everyone always seems happy to help! (Though I do think adding a bell or something to grab attention for pickup would be beneficial)
