I had a poor experience today. I ordered a pizza for pickup and asked specifically if the hulapeno had sauce on it in order to ascertain if I should ask for extra sauce because it looked a little skimpy on sauce in the picture. I was assured it did have sauce and furthermore I noted to myself in my own mind that “homemade red sauce” is first on the ingredient list on the menu. The pizza did not have any sauce on it (see picture). I called and asked how I could provide feedback regarding my experience and was told to submit a google review. I discussed this with my fellow diners and they also found it odd that the prescribed method to provide feedback was a google review so I called again a second time asking if there was any other mechanism or if I should/could talk to anyone and was again advised very nonchalantly that no, just submit a google review. So here is my review: I saw the picture and asked if there was sauce. I was assured there was, verbally, by a human being in the establishment with the pizza. How is there not sauce on my pizza? How is the person taking phone calls not trained to even ask what my concern is, much less apologise or try to make it right. Is it your policy that there is no intermediate step between your business failed spectacularly to provide the one easy-peasy thing I specifically asked about (some sauce on my pizza) and “yeah just go ahead and post about it?” I am not so much upset as waiting with bated breath to discover if I am now at long last become in the eyes of society an unreasonable old karen/curmugeon? P.S. based on the picture (and product), I gently suggest you remove red sauce from the ingredient list of your Hulapeno pizza to forestall possible future misunderstandings. Food was great and a good portion sizes! Server was nice as well. Wish they had a bigger drink/cocktail menu, otherwise love it there! We got the buffalo wings, which were good but I should’ve requested them more crispy, the bruschetta was delicious and so was the lasagna! Oh and can’t forget one of my favorites, mostaccioli! So good! Didn’t disappoint!

I had been coming back from a concert and was very hungry. This place was open and I came upon it.
I had ordered an appetizer (Bruschetta) and a hoagie. The sandwich was still good but it wasn’t my favorite. I believe their pizzas would have been more up my alley.

Always friendly, affordable, and the pizza is totally solid. We love Luce’s signature pizzas and great beer list. Our kid loves the cheese pizza and the coloring sheet. Thanks for being there for us during a heat wave when we don’t want to cook.

I thought this pizza was delicious. We built our own and just did pepperoni, mushrooms, onion, and green olives. The crust was on point, not sagging and not too crunchy. It was a little difficult to find parking, we had to walk about a block but it was well worth it. When I’m in the twin cities and wanting pizza this is where I’ll be going.

I really debated whether or not to leave this review. We go to Pizza Luce a lot and I’ve always loved the food. Never had an issue until today. But when I found a sharp piece of plastic baked into my pizza—under the cheese—I couldn’t just let it slide.
I brought it back calmly and discreetly, hoping it would be taken seriously. They offered to remake the pizza and give me a dessert, which might be fine for a small mistake—but not for something that could’ve seriously hurt someone. When I asked for a refund instead, the manager initially offered only half, which honestly stunned me. He did end up refunding the full amount after I reacted, but it shouldn’t have taken that.
What bothered me most wasn’t just the plastic—it was the lack of urgency or concern. This wasn’t a simple wrong order kind of scenario. There was a shard of plastic that could’ve caused serious injury. Huge liability for a business. There was no sign they were looking into how it happened or whether other food might be affected. I didn’t make a scene at the time out of respect, but I do think this needs to be addressed publicly. Mistakes happen—but how they’re handled matters, especially when safety is involved.

Food is great but the AC is not working, I can’t even believe they can be open right now. It’s about 10 degrees hotter by the front windows than it is towards the back and barely a difference between inside and outside. It has to be 80° in here. Would not recommend right now.

My husband and I used to live in the area and would come here all the time. We always love Pizza Luce, but I think this location’s atmosphere is one of our favorites. The parking lot is quite small (as is typical in the cities), so be prepared for street parking. The service and food are both awesome!

I love Pizza Luce. It is always my pre-show go-to when I’m seeing shows downtown, and holds the esteemed spot of my favorite pizza in the Twin Cities. I’m mostly a meatless eater, and their options are glorious, diverse and flavorful. Their Margherita pizza is divine. The service is superb, top-notch in every way. Parking for pickup can be a challenge during rush hours, but don’t let that deter you. So very yummy.
