I walk in for a pickup that’s supposed to be ready. Staff at the counter, tell me it’ll be a few minutes. I then wait twelve minutes with no update. I walk up to the counter again and ask for an update.I’m told a few minutes. I ask what that means 2, 5, or 10 minutes? They say they have no idea and walk away.
If you have no idea how long it’s going to be until it’s ready why lie and say a few minutes multiple times.
Our order was very simple—eight wings, some cheesesticks, three waters, and one iced tea. I was not expecting to pay the same for a water as I would for a soft drink, but that appears to be the practice now, and I would have appreciated a warning that a cup of water was going to cost me. The wings came out with two of them having the wrong sauce.
Upon completing our meal, she left the bill on the table without a word and returned to the register. The customers coming in and out were all picking up orders, many for delivery services. Frankly, I’m not sure this location should have a dining room. They don’t appear to be staffed for it, and the staff there doesn’t appear to be expecting it, or trained for it.
It was a very strange experience for a “sit-down restaurant,” and it would probably be better to just embrace the fact that it’s fast food. If we’d ordered first, picked up our food, and then taken our seats, we would have expected to bus our own table instead of standing awkwardly next to it, wondering if that was the expectation. We went ahead and tossed our scraps and put our dishes in the tray.
The food was exactly what I have come to expect from Pizza hut, hurriedly prepared baked food. Paying over $30 for eight wings, some cheese-bread, and water (plus one tea) left me with the impression that we will be better off choosing to dine in elsewhere.
I guess the Pizza Hut from 30-40 years ago is out of business, and they are more like Domino’s or Little Caesar’s, only it takes longer.
Although service was kind of slow, and we weren’t greeted or seated when we got there, I still give this place a 5 because of how pleasant our waitress was.
The garlic twists are really good, definitely will order them again. The salad was fresh.
We were pleased at the improved experience since the last time we had been in.
Very fresh, tasty pizza.
