We had the best food & we were so thankful to stumble upon this place! Everything was delicious. Meatballs for the appetizer, wood fire pizza, chicken Parmesan & the grouper special! It was the cutest place inside and out. The kids also loved it!

I was visiting my parents in Punta Gorda and we decided to try somewhere they’ve never been before but heard good things about it. Everything about this place was great. The service is very welcoming and attentive. The food is great. They have daily specials written in the wall so check them out!

Staff was great. We ordered the supreme pizza. The pizza was what I would considered to be clean and light. Very fresh and healthy. Will visit again.

Excellent pizza. I’m an enthusiast who’s eaten pizza all over the world and at all the famous places. This Marguerite pizza is right there with the greats. Maybe the crust could have been proofed a little longer for more depth, but I won’t take anything away from it. Also, maybe could have raised the pizza in the dome at the end for more of a top cook – but again, won’t take anything away. This is award winning pie.
The crust was well made, the perfect chew and crunch with the start of a flavor depth. Sauce uses great tomatoes – guessing San Marzano. They’re enhanced with a tiny bit of salt and evoo. Yummy. The high moisture mozzarella is a great choice. And the fresh basil. Wow.
Overall – excellent pie. Can’t wait to come back. Luckily my sister lives 5 minutes away.

Portions have gotten smaller but they aren’t shy with the prices. We ordered an Italian ham sandwich “Puccie” and were served low quality sliced deli meat. When asked about the Italian ham (which is prosciutto) we were confidently told that it is “Black Forest Italian Ham”, which isn’t even a thing. Oh and it was $20 for the sandwich. We won’t be back.

Before I go any further I would like to say that we have always enjoyed our meals that we have had at Pizza Gorda. The other night, however, was not as expected. We ordered our appetizer and wanted to wait on ordering our meal to give some time in between. The waitress told us she would hold off on ordering our dinner until after we finished our appetizer. That did not happen. As soon as our plates were finished with the appetizer our pizza was delivered. Not what we asked for, not what she guaranteed. We asked for crispy, not what we received. The pizza was gooey and soft as if it was sitting around. Halfway through eating the pizza another individual came to our table and tried to grab the tray away while we were still eating. We had reservations and we were completely rushed out the door in under 45 minutes. Not why we went there. I did not want to go onto social media and put out dirty laundry because we enjoy dining with them, but I felt compelled to let the public know because I sent an email and no one responded.

We have been here before and liked it very much. We wanted this to be a “go-to” place for us to bring guests but aren’t so sure after this recent experience. This time we had a less than satisfactory dinner. Our server forgot to put our garlic knot order in but did admit her error and made it right. She said she would send the manager over. Then there was also an incorrect dinner delivered with the other 3. They did quickly put in the correct order but the three of us had over half our meals gone before it came. Food was good – mussels especially outstanding. We mentioned we hadn’t received a visit by the manager and then my daughter had to seek him out. We understand they were busy but his attitude when he did come over certainly didn’t make us feel good whatsoever. His first comment was rudely “what do you need?!” We indicated the server said she was going to send him over. He then stated “well I guess I need to hire another manager, I’m too busy.” We nicely told him about our experience and didn’t ask for anything but maybe thought we’d get a little empathy, an apology for the slow service & mistakes or maybe be offered some kind of goodwill gesture. Instead he rudely asked “did you eat the food? Well then you’re all set.” Of course we ate the food as that is what we came there for. What we didn’t come for was the rude attitude. Sadly this won’t be a “go to” place for us and they certainly didn’t give us a $170 experience!

Pizza gorda was a gorgeous, quaint dining experience. Our server, Lori, was so kind from the moment we stepped in. She made us feel welcome even though we are from a bit more than stones throw away from the area, (Dublin, Ireland ) and we loved every minute. The sangria was delicious, the garlic knots were out of this world and the pizza was like it came straight from an Italian oven. The tiramisu was hard to squeeze in at the end as we were stuffed to the brim, and thank god we did. It was a beautiful, large portion that my friends and I devoured in 45 seconds flat. Really recommend to a friend, family or stranger!

Friday night, place was slammed busy at 715pm, walked in, was greeted kindly, got a table for two by the window, had the best white pizza I’ve had in a very long time. Crust was perfect, cheese was perfect, service was perfect. We both loved it

Pizza Gorda serves up some of the best Neapolitan-style pizza you’ll find in Southwest Florida. Their 13-inch wood-fired pies are perfect for two to share… or just for yourself if you’re hungry. They’ve also got a great selection of Italian wines that pair really well with the food. If you’re going during peak hours, definitely make a reservation… this place gets busy. Bonus tip: don’t skip the Caesar salad. Seriously, it might be the best one you’ll ever have. If you’re after an authentic Italian pizza experience, Pizza Gorda is absolutely worth a visit.
