So I called at 7pm inquiring about my order. The Lady answering didn’t even see my order. Her excuse was that they have issues with their tablets since a couple of days and they don’t get a “ring”/hearable notification that they received an order. So I asked if I wouldn’t have called to ask they never would have checked for an order? And she said no, but she would submit it right now if I still wanted to. So I said yes. I also said they should check their orderes especially if it is known that the tablet doesn’t give a notification. The lady was rude repeating that they had issues with the tablets giving them notification. I asked if I wouldn’t have called I would I have lost my money – since nobody seem to have checked for orders. She then got more rude, saying they wouldn’t steel and given me my money back. I only answered uhu and then she asking me if I accuse them of being thieves? I answered no. But she kept ranting off, I am accusing them of being thieves. Then I said just deliver my pizza (knowing that now had to wait another hour). She told me she will reject the order because I am the one being rude.
Ridiculus. Last time I ordered pizza there!
Some people shouldn’t work in service. If you know you have issues with your tablet giving notification sounds, then it is your job to check periodically –
and not blame the tablet or “not working” notification. To call me rude for checking if I would have gotten my money back ($92 ish by the way incl. $11.49 for delievery fees, another $1 random fee plus 6.90 in taxes and 15% tip) is my right as a customer. My credit card still showed the charges pending for 3 days, even though my order got rejected. Pizza Express was my go to – but service is getting crappy and the pizza is getting to pricey. Question also remains if I would have never called to check on my order – would I have been charged or how does that work?
We got there 10 minutes later and the door dash driver was just arriving. By the time we got back home it was 7:15, an hour after the original delivery time.
I understand being short staffed sucks and sometimes can’t be helped. But this should have been communicated to us as soon as they knew they weren’t going to be there within a decent amount of time. I would have had no problem picking it up myself 50 minutes ago, or just cancelling and ordering elsewhere. Poor poor communication, and wouldn’t even refund the tip to try and make it right.
Would have given 1 star but the pizza was decent.
Been there multiple times and it’s always great tasting pizza and fast service!
UPDATE: I have no idea if the staff for pizza express on Spring Street is changing but its getting really bad on taking orders and delivery. When calling in an order they act clueless like “what is a cheese stuffed crust” and took a little more than an hr to deliver.
