Found this place on the One Bite app, which had a high score and great reviews. Doesn’t disappoint! Pizza has a nice char, and flavor is on point. Good thin crust that holds up and doesn’t flop. I am a little confused; however, the menu is Italian-inspired, and the decor, with cassette tapes and 1980s boom boxes, creates a different vibe. Then there’s the Spanish music throughout, and the sports on all the TV screens. The personality conflict is maddening.

This is a 7.9 pizza! I live in Jax but travel all over the country trying the best pizza places! As of writing this review, this is the best pizza in Jax! No flop, light sauce, perfect amount of cheese, and no grease!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

I came here on a whim cause I wanted some food quickly and saw they offered pizza slices. I’m glad I did! Plenty of choices, almost too hard to pick, but settled on a couple slices that were heated up and served quickly. Cacio e pepe, wow, I’ve never had anything like it and want more of it, creamy and cheesey and peppery. Vodka lasagna pie, yum yum! And the house dynamo pie, solid. The birthday cake gelato was pretty much my perfect birthday cake flavored ice cream too.

This is a great addition to downtown Jax. The pizza was great, though, they only have bottled soft drinks. They should have a fountain drink dispenser. Otherwise, the cost of refills if high. If you are with your family, get a 2 liter. That said, as mentioned, the pizza was great and they have bountiful variety of toppings and styles of pies. They also have gelato. The decor is nice. The bars are technically separate, one of accessible from the outside and the other is a part of a large sport bar. Very cool place with old school video game and pinball machines.

Ordered a cheese pizza, pizza was 9/10, it was huge & came with fresh basil on top, which was nice. Didn’t realize that the pizza shop was connected to the bar on the corner, it was very loud due to the game going on, so we sat at a table around the corner and the noise wasn’t too bad. They had garlic, oregano and parm shakers on the table, which reminded me of up north. Employees were also very nice. Definitely would return to try a different pie.

We stopped here for lunch while walking to sweet Pete’s. The pizza by the slice was nice and the pizza was very good. Even the kids enjoyed their pizza. A rarity for sure. $62 for 3 slices, one 7″ sandwich, 3 bags of snack size chips, 2 bottled sodas and one order of garlic bread. A bit expensive. The marinara with the garlic bread was super spicy and we all were shocked and didn’t like it.

Revised July 25: Stopped by for lunch today. We enjoyed this place past time, but this time we were LOVED it! The slices/pizza keeps getting better and better, and it was awesome to see so many people in for lunch on a weekday. Service was fast, and everyone was very nice. I cannot stress how exciting it is to have another amazing food spot downtown!
Original post: We happened across this place today when they had their soft opening. Got several slices of pizza (both for dine in and to go). Was very happy with the food we got, especially for the price. Staff were all very friendly and we had a minimal wait time. We’re excited for them to do their full menu launch next week.
As a downtown resident, it’s very exciting to see new restaurants opening up, and Pizza Dynamo is a welcomed and celebrated addition to what downtown has to offer!!

Had a great dinner here tonight. We got slices of traditional cheese and a grandmas slice (which good luck ever finding one of those in Florida. Sicilian sure but grandmas?!), and Caesar salads. I know everyone always describes themselves with “I’m a pizza snob”, “I’m from New York”, etc etc, and I fill those descriptions too but seriously. These guys are doing pizza right. This is the best pizza I’ve had in Jacksonville and it’s not even close. Thin, well-cooked pizzas, flavorful sauce, just enough oil to leave a good shine on your plate, and all the right toppings on the table too. Jamal from the kitchen came out to check on us and chat for a bit, and it was a pleasure getting to do so. I thought he was the owner, but nope! Just a dude that cares about what he’s putting out there and should be proud of it. This is going to be my new pizza spot, I hope you give it a try and make it yours too. Or maybe don’t, that way there’s more pizza for me?
