I have tried pizza in so many places across the country, but nothing compares to what I found at Pizza By The Pound in Paducah. Their braided crust and massive handmade specialty pizza are unlike anything I have come across, even in cities known for their pizza. It is honestly the best pizza I have ever tasted. If you ever make your way to western Kentucky, you have to stop in and experience it for yourself.

This is a hidden gem. The pizza was outstanding the staff was uber friendly!! The prices are reasonable and worth visiting on the road to Metropolis, IL the home of Super Man. Just 2.5 hours of Nashville great for a day trip!

Samantha was a good waitress but overworked. We ordered a deep dish pizza and what they serve is a thin crust bottom with a mile high crust. it should be bread by the pound or pizza bread.

First time visiting this establishment and I have to say that I was very pleased with how my visit was. The staff was super friendly, the atmosphere was inviting and warm, and the food was super amazing!! My server Kalyn ( I’m so sorry if I misspelled that ) was so nice and made sure I got my food fresh. There was even an issue with my breadsticks not being served and she made sure that it was brought out to me and even took them off my ticket!! I got the fajita pizza and it was delicious! I will definitely be returning very soon! Thank you so much for making my experience a wonderful one.

Always and I mean ALWAYS a favorite!!!!! Great decor on the walls. Always a homey feel because the owner’s (Terry and wife) and staff are always making sure you’re good!!!! Food is amazing. YES!!! That is HONEY that is on every table to use to your desire on anything! But especially their pizza. Pizza is BY FAR, hands down, the BEST pizza you’ve ever eaten!!! Menu holds something for everyone. You really can’t beat this place. Prices have gone up with everything else but still affordable. I can’t say enough good things about this place. I hope they stay in business forever! Come in and try that EIGHT POUND PIZZA CHALLENGE!!!!!

I love the pizza here it is amazing but the servers are clearly overworked and need help I see the same server everytime I come here and she’s also working the bar. Even though she’s super nice, she can’t be all attentive because she’s way too busy. One day i came, she had a party of at least 8, 5 tables and working the bar. Saying “i’m so sorry” literally everytime you come to my table, the table behind me, or in front of me should be a sign that she needs help. I’m not even upset with her, it’s upsetting that management is working their people like this. sometimes i’ve had my food come out cold after waiting an hour, drinks never given, tickets never given and had to just leave cash after being here 2 hours just for a large pizza and sometimes i’ve had everything given and really hot pizza. instead of taking a gamble, it’s better to just order take out if you want pizza or otherwise go somewhere else

CLEAN the FRONT of the restaurant….looks like a dump…. Doesn’t matter what the inside looks like if the cover of the book looks like it needs a little paint and a little bit of replacing a few trims… That means lazy. That means employees don’t wash their hands. That means that people are not going to go in… If you’re inside, looks good. The outside got a match or shut the thing down. Good gravy alive . How do employees are the owner park their cars outside the store and as they walk towards the front door to open it, they see this nastiness and they don’t clean it. Give the people a break… I’ll change this review when I see the outside improved! I’ll be back in 60 days…

Our waitress was great. Sweet tea is fountain not homemade. The pizza we got claims to be New York style but it was just a thin crusted tasted like a frozen pizza. Barely any pepperoni on it. It has a bar feel to it.

I honestly didn’t know what to put for the amount of stars for the food… Since we have been here 1.5 hours and still haven’t gotten any. (Side note: it did come out right after I typed that,) I get that this is a Friday night, but when you’re watching other tables, that came in well after you, get their food… You begin to wonder. I mean maybe it’s our winning personalities that would make a place want to take us hostage… But a girl is hungry. So, after watching the waitress walk by our empty cups, time and time again… We finally flagged her down. We were met with a huff when we asked when we could expect our food… And if we could have a refill. It took another 20 minutes to hear anything and we didn’t get our refill for another 20.
But let’s start at the very beginning. We were told, when we walked in, to sit anywhere. The only problem was that there were only three dirty tables that didn’t have people at them. So, we sat down at one of them. I had to go to the bar to ask if we could get service… And still waited with our piled dishes from the people before us. The waitress from the other side went to get our drinks. And after sitting for awhile I saw the guy who was clearing tables and I asked him to clear our table… Because clearly it was more of a bother to US to be sitting with other people’s mess than it was for anyone else. (How DARE us, right?) When the waitress finally made it over to us… We placed our order. We ordered an app of cheese sticks, which we NEVER got, and a pizza. And we sat. And sat. And sat. We sipped our drinks that the other waitress brought us… For a time frame that felt like we had entered a serious drought. By the time we actually got our drinks, we had drank all the melted ice too and were sadly awaiting winter so we could forage for more as we had asked for those refills and were now certain that the soda machine supplies had dried up.
By the time we got our pizza… Our aforementioned “winning personalities” had also dried up. We’d made a great trauma bond with the couple behind us, as they had been there for an hour and still had not received their food either. I took up knitting my napkins and was able to build a webpage and start selling my wares. I also started a novel… This one, that you’re currently reading.
While they have amazing pizza, IF you ever get it… I believe this establishment needs to remember that there are MANY other places to eat in Paducah. Next time, we will find another one.
As far as my Rikki rating scale… Im gonna give this one my very lowest rating. The service we received was terrible, from the moment we walked through the door. The only good thing about tonight was that other waitress, from the other side.
So, unless you’d like to take up residency in a restaurant and beg for service… You may want to skip this one.

This place has pizza figured out! They make their own dough, and actually have a patent on the pizza sauce. They take their pizza seriously and it is evident after you taste it. They have jars of honey on the table to put on your pizza crust after you have eaten your slice. It is oddly quite delicious! No more wasted pizza crust! We ordered the deep dish house special – which weighs a lofty five pounds! It was impressive in size, toppings and most importantly taste! If we lived closer, we would certainly be regulars!
