Located in the heart of downtown Rochester, Pittsburgh Blue will bring its standard bearing steaks to Rochester residents and visitors in the spring of 2019. Say the word and we’ll serve it up charred on the outside, raw on the inside; the way Pittsburgh steelworkers ate their steak – the result of throwing slabs of meat directly onto the blast furnaces. (Ask for our recommendation, though, and we’ll steer you to medium-rare). Or maybe you’re in the mood for fresh seafood, a perfectly roasted chicken, or the world’s best burger.

Service was awesome. Super friendly the minute you walk in. We ordered 1 porter house medium, 2 lobster chowders, 1 ice berg wedge salad, 1 pork belly maple something, loaded mash for 1, 1 adult Mac n cheese, 2 beers and a coke. Lots of food for justv2 people. Wow. Everything tasted great. Steak was like butter in your mouth, super soft and juicy. Seasoning was melted into it, not sprinkled on top. The pork belly appetizer came with corn bread muffin, let’s just say it was the best tasting pancakes with bacon ever, that’s what it was like. They bring your meal on a cart with a black table cloth and rake it the same way as they doggy bag it for you our if site. Table was always kept clean. Taking dishes as they pass by and refilling drinks without having to ask. Top notch service. Our bill for all that was $182. And we got enough left overs for tomorrow’s dinner.

A fantastic dining experience right near downtown with great drinks, perfect steaks, and wonderful sides/appetizers if one does not mind the higher price tag.

All the food was good except for the steak. With it being a steakhouse that should be the highlight. We go to both locations in the cities often but we will not be back to this location. Our steaks were done incorrect 3x (6 filets) on the 2nd time I just asked for them to remove my steak and I’ll just eat the sides. They really didn’t want to hear that (not the server). I felt like it was pressuring and the few tables that were seated kept looking at us so it made it extremely uncomfortable. We wanted a medium filets 1st was WELL done, 2nd was purple and 3rd was well done again and not seasoned at all. The server apologized and took the steaks off and gave 2 desserts but it was still uncomfortable. I don’t recommend this location. But highlight recommend Maple Grove location we have been there many times and have never sent a steak back.

We celebrated my birthday in one of the private rooms. Staff was really helpful and accommodating (we had 4 kids in our group ). Great menu selection, and everything was delicious and well-presented. A gem in downtown Rochester, MN! Thank you for a great birthday dinner!

My Fiancé and I had never had dinner at Pittsburgh Blue Steakhouse before, so we decided to give it a try on New Year’s Eve! Overall, it was a lovely experience. The service was exceptional, with our server being attentive and friendly throughout the evening. The dirty Martini I ordered was well-crafted, adding to the overall pleasant atmosphere. We opted for the Queens Cut prime rib, which arrived quickly — a definite plus. However, while the dish was cooked how we requested, we found the flavor of the prime rib to be a bit underwhelming. It lacked the rich seasoning or depth we were expecting. On the plus side, the horseradish served alongside the prime rib was excellent, adding a much-needed punch to the dish. Despite the lack of seasoning on the prime rib, the overall experience was enjoyable, and we’d certainly consider trying other menu options on our next visit. It’s definitely a place we’d return to for the ambiance, service, and drink selection, with the hope that other dishes may offer a bit more flavor.

Absolutely fabulous. Husband got the Cowboy, I got prime rib, and we shared the loaded mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious, service was excellent. We also got the coconut tres leches—I had it when we came last year and I’d been dreaming of it ever since. Amazing.

Our food was very good. I didn’t have the best luck as my 1st and 2nd choices were not available that day so finay went with my 3rd choice (picture). Aside from that we were happy with our meal. The honey glazed carrots are an absolute must..Our waiter did a great job..

All looked promising, beautiful place, super nice staff, until the food arrived. The French onion soup was not heated enough and the inside was cold, the super expensive steaks were chewy and salty. The sides, which were separately charged (!!) were good. I would summarize by saying that the price is of a prestigious steak house and the food is more like a strip mall diner. I’m wondering how many people give it 5 stars, it is misleading.

I took my youngest daughter for a girls night dinner on the 4th of July. Our host and server were both friendly and welcoming and absolutely awesome when my daughter got a bit fidgety during the meal. The kids meals are really hearty portions so we had crispy chicken strips for leftovers the next day. I had the French onion soup (lots of cheese and not overly salty) and a giant baked potato which is a meal in itself.

Food was a bit too salty. The Calamari appetizer was our favorite. Perfectly crunchy, it had chunks of fried lemon and pickled peppers that was a great match with the lemon sauce. Pistachio crusted walleye was kind of heavy and bland, and was hard to finish. Roasted chicken was good and flavorful, small in portions though. The kids cheese burger was good as well but the fries were too salty. My husband’s Red Bull vodka was made very well and he enjoyed it. Excellent service though!
