The way we make shawarma is different but WOW this one is super delicious and very fulfilling. The pita bread is the true pita bread not the fake one you get from the grocery store. I would give this place 10 stars if I can because they care about every single detail

I’m one of those people who completely judges a Mediterranean spot by their falafel. If they can’t get that right, I usually don’t bother with the rest—but Pita House in Tarrytown absolutely nailed it. It was incredibly fresh, and honestly, everything else we had was just as excellent.
We went there for Valentine’s Day and it was exactly the right call. The whole place has this really cozy, low-key vibe that felt perfect for a night out. They also have a surprisingly amazing wine list that paired perfectly with the food.
The staff is another huge plus—they’re genuinely cheerful and made us feel welcome the second we walked in. If you haven’t checked this place out yet, you definitely should. It’s rare to find a spot where the quality and the atmosphere both hit the mark.

What a wonderful find. Excellent authentic food. The hummus was creamy, the falafel was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the shawarma was beautifully seasoned and the pita was soft. Authentic Turkish coffee and delicious baklava.

This place is amazing! My family and I enjoyed this place very much! The food was nice and fresh the salads were delicious and nutritious the Falafel was not dry like most places (in the USA) i can go on about it but really you will not regret this, we are visiting the area but I really hope we will come back again to this place.

We love this place! Super friendly service. Amazing food. Great location. They make their own pita bread, a seemingly rare thing among Mediterranean restaurants, and they’re sooooo bomb. The plates here taste legit homemade. Go here!

Shawarma sandwich was real fresh and well seasoned and the shakshuka was well-balanced with perfectly jammy eggs. Homemade pita is soft and puffy- far better than the premade ones you get at a lot of places.
They even give you pita chips and hummus as a snack!

Walked in hungry, walked out happy. The couscous with veggies was the kind of dish that makes you pause after the first bite — cozy, flavorful, and somehow exactly what I didn’t know I was craving. The shawarma? So good. Tender, packed with flavor, and gone way too fast. It’s the kind of place you tell your friends about, but secretly want to keep to yourself.

I am so glad the original restaurant I tried to go to had an hour long wait because it allowed me to stumble upon this place. And it’s so good, I came back a week later for more, and I don’t even live in this area.

The place is casual and bright. The food comes out quickly. As a courtesy, they bring a homemade hummus with toasted pita – so fresh and delicious. My first time had a bowl of lentil soup, which was so flavorful and filling. I really didn’t need anything else, but I had ordered the Sharwma platter. It’s a large portion of chicken, rice, and salad – since the soup filled me up, I had enough Sharwma to take home for a nice lunch. My son got a cheeseburger, and it was a double patty smashed burger style – he ordered the fries too and was delicious. The pita they bring is fresh, so soft and great for sopping up any leftover tahini sauce.

My second time, I knew my eyes were bigger than my stomach last time, so I just got the Sharwma platter again (yes, I know I should branch out and try something different, but it was so good and full of flavor, I needed a repeat to see if it was the same as the week before. Yup, it didn’t disappoint, and this time, no to go bag needed. My friend got the Shakshuka and added on eggplant and Halloumi. It came in a skillet. I got to try some and wow, tasty. She loved it and had enough for leftovers. After a long hike, it was the perfect meal to get warm and fill up.

This will now be my go-to spot when up in the area, and I will promise myself that next time, I’ll venture for something different on the menu, but then again… why mess with perfection.
