A few days ago, I went with my girlfriend. We ordered Anticuchos as an appetizer, and they were decent, but they didn’t have the original sauce that goes with Anticuchos, nor the typical aji (chili pepper) sauce or “Aji anticuchero”, although they did have another sauce that substituted for it.
I had never eaten Lomo Saltado with cherry tomatoes and baby potatoes before, even though this dish is one of the most recognized worldwide. The flavor wasn’t quite what a Lomo Saltado should taste like either. I understand that many restaurants adapt traditional dishes and fuse them with other cuisines, I understand that. But this place lacks that true Peruvian essence.
We also ordered “Arroz Chaufa” with Chijaukay Chicken, which was good, but different, with bell peppers.
If you’re not Peruvian, you’ll love the place, the service, decor, and atmosphere were very good, but not the music. I was trying to have lunch, and there was a mix of techno and reggaeton playing, which we didn’t like.
Hopefully, they can make some changes in the future and show their customers what the true experience of eating Peruvian food is like, and of course, adjust those prices, which were way above market value. I won’t name other Peruvian restaurants nearby that have a better variety of Peruvian dishes, and whose prices, although high, are more in line with the expected experience.
Everything was absolutely spectacular from start to finish. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was incredible, and the service was outstanding.
We want to especially recognize our server Alejandro, who was attentive, friendly, and very professional throughout the entire experience. He truly made us feel welcome and took the experience to the next level.
Highly recommend this place — ask for Alejandro; we will definitely be back!
