Tonight my daughter and I went to the Toledo Symphony Holiday Concert at the Ritz Theatre. We started driving around headed to eat with no particular place in mind. This was 5:30pm on a Saturday evening, mind you. She called Pioneer Mill and Ricky answered the phone. He said he can get us a table but it would be a bit of a wait. We continued on towards the Pioneer Mill, after all, the show didn’t start until 7:30pm. Once we arrived there were literally a dozen people waiting/walking in with us. Ricky was short staffed but handled it like a professional. Quickly and efficiently, he seated table after table. We got on the books and headed downstairs where I had a glass a wine and my daughter, a glass of water. We had a menu and a table before we knew it! The staff were incredibly friendly and patient. You couldn’t tell they were stressed and handled the crowd with ease paying special attention to the Ritz Goers who had a schedule to adhere to. Our food and service was delicious! Both my daughter and I were super impressed and forgot we should go there more often to eat.

We rarely ever get a night out without our kids, so we decided to try somewhere new for Valentine’s Day that I’ve never been. My boyfriend knows how much I love prime rib and said this place is known for it. He spent a week and a half calling trying to make a reservation, and didn’t finally hear back until the day before telling him all they had available was 8:05pm. We understand it’s a holiday and going to be busy, so we took the available time.
We sat around 8:15 and ordered shortly after. I ordered a 14oz prime rib with a side of rice pilaf. The waitress came back and said they ran out of prime rib, but they had a 14oz strip steak I could order instead, so I did. When it came out almost an hour and a half later, it was raw and covered in gravy with a completely different side. I asked about the rice I ordered and she said this was “the special.” I hate gravy and never would have ordered it if I knew. Not only could I not cut through my steak because it was not properly cooked, but it was covered in something I won’t eat. If a guest is paying that much for a meal, they should at least be informed they can’t have it the way they ordered it so they can have the opportunity to choose something different they may actually like.
For the amount of money we spent last evening, i shouldn’t have to take my entire $35 steak home in a styrofoam box and cook it myself before I can eat it. This was a very disappointing experience and not somewhere I would ever go again, or recommend to anyone else for that matter.

We went here for a Birthday get together and had a great experience. The first thing I noticed from the parking lot was the awesome wood fired smoky smell. Really enticing.. the building has a great atmosphere,it’s a real historical mill no longer in use. Lots of rustic items on display, very interesting. We didn’t have to wait for a table, and we were waited on fairly quickly. The pace of receiving our food was nice too. We got the salad bar to start which was great, especially the soup,which was a chili that was loaded with meat.The menu is varied,something for everyone. I’m a burger guy so I got the double smash burger, and it was one of the best burgers I’ve had. It had the smoky flavor that I smelled earlier.I bet the steaks are great with this wood fired flavor. The prices were good too. Everyone else in the group really enjoyed their food. Overall a great experience! I’d like to come back in the summer and sit outside on the deck !

The food was fantastic. The atmosphere of the converted mill is very welcoming and comfortable. Our server was on point taking care of several more tables than normal because her staff was late. She did a great job getting out orders in and to the table.

Another terrific Thanksgiving buffet time enjoyed with visiting family during our Noon reservation. Three years in a row, we have had the same table perfectly located nearby the buffet and staff. This quaint eating area is comfortably spread out all inside and just pleasing to look at from every angle. Our server this afternoon was Ms Janet. Impeccable service and delightful communication all with a sweet smile throughout. The ham and yams this year were especially delicious and oh my, the dessert table always has something new added. This year for me it was the mouse Hershey kiss cups. Thank you PM for a wonderful experience.

Awesome steakhouse in a historic old mill over water. Excellent steaks, pastas were yummy and while we didn’t get to try, seafood is supposed to be pretty good. Cocktails were nice. The Moscow Mule was amazing. They do have a nice salad bar. This place has some cool history you can read on their website.

I had booked reservations for our Thanksgiving dinner for 15 people. When we got to our table they didn’t have our tables together, they put 2 sets of 2 tables together and a table for 4 in a different spot, while they had another set of tables all together for another party that was for a corporate dinner. When we got there they also let us know that they needed 2 of our tables for this other party and was pretty much telling us that the party was going to be there at 3 while our reservation was at 2 so they wanted us out of there so the corporate party can have our 2 tables. They were rushing us out so the other party could have our seats. On the buffet it had a lot of empty or close to empty pans and didn’t have many desserts on the dessert table.. For the price of our meals we expected it to be a lot better than what it was. I would not recommend this place

I hopped in the car and headed east to find a place to eat. I started searching through Google and found this place, so glad I found it. This is a really cool historic building with a great background story. It wasn’t busy when we came in. It did take several minutes to get seated. Once we were seated, everything went well. The server was attentive. The menu was vast, even though they ran out of several items.The soup and salad bar was fresh with plenty of toppings for the salad. Both of enteess were really good. The twice baked potato was great. The baked potato was scorched. That was my only complaint for the evening.

I’ve ate at the Pioneer Mill in the past and from what I remember the food was good and the building was amazing. Just dropped by today coming back from Lake Erie and wanted to show my lady friend how cool the restaurant is. Was disappointed with the parking lot, there was a branch down and trash laying around. The outside looked like it could use a spruce up. Kinda feel that if the small things like that aren’t taken care of by the owners, how can food quality and service be good?

This was our first time at this restaurant and we have nothing but fantastic things to say about our visit. Mike was our waiter and he did a fantastic job explaining the features as well as menu items. The atmosphere was very unique, the food was not only delicious but very visually appealing and overall, a very warming experience. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone, thank you again!!
