Well, I’ve lived in this place for many years. And we’ve gotten to understand that we agree to disagree on people’s type of drinking. Don’t matter who’s drinking a drunkard is a drunkard. Don’t matter what color you are. And I learn that the hard way, but these people are very prejudiced and if you are the same way as they are, then you guys will get along. But it’s hard to get service in the place like this when you have colored skin. But since they sell single cigarettes, it’s my only place of buying a cigarette for a dollar so I deal with them even if we agree to disagree. But there are bartenders in this place who are not as discriminative as some of them. So give the place a chance. And you never know you may make a new bartender friend. Like the good word says love you enemy.

Went in and stood by for about 20 minutes…when I asked the blonde bartender for service, she was extremely rude. I am unsure whether it was because I was the only black person in the place, but my husband and I chose to leave, rather than give them our money.

Know as P’s place to the locals if you make it here you’re only 1% of cruise ship people that venture this far. A selection of Alaskan beers but what really sets the place apart are the amazing photos on the walls of boats and huge halibut. Apparently the large halibut are impressive but not great to eat.

This bar has been around for decades. In the off season it can be a pretty rough and tumble place. During the summer it caters to tourists mostly. Wide selection of beer, wine and liquor. Its one of two decent bars in town. Worth a try.
