Had such a yummy dinner here tonite at the Sesnon house. The building is so gorgeous and warm and welcoming inside , like steppin into grandma and pawpaws house-for an elegant vibe and tasty dishes crafted by the Cabrillo culinary students . 10/10 loved all the inspiration and love behind each dish .

This restaurant is staffed by students in the Cabrillo College culinary program. Only open during the week, but that setting is phenomenal. Nice low-key dining experience, and they have a wine list. Wonderful midweek date night.

The lunch menu rotates every two week with different theme from Italian, French, Asian to American. Most ingredients such as bread, soup, entree and dessert are prepared fresh by chefs and training students. The set menu is reasonably priced between $10 and $15, which includes salad, bread, soup and your choice of entree. No reservation is needed for the lunch time but is highly recommend for dinner service.

This is a unique restaurant in a beautiful building, vintage 1911. We had a lovely view of the lawn and trees, and the atmosphere was quiet and pleasant. My husband and I both liked the light lemony dressing on the large side salad, and it’s unusual for us to agree on dressing tartness. He rated his linguine with chicken as fine, but not very interesting. My baked squash was amazing: wonderfully spiced, soft, and rich-tasting, and I’d love to have the recipe. The four small slices seemed more like an appetizer than a main dish, but with the salad I was fine. Prices are reasonable. Where else can you get a cup of tea for $2?

The food is always good and for reasonable prices. The chef and students care about service and the food lending a level of sincerity not found elsewhere.

Geat food served by humble students trying their best – with great service (which is not so common in Santa Cruz County).
The restaurant is located in the old Sesnon House, a former senator from ~100 years ago, who built a small estate you may enjoy.
Suggested to reserve in advance, to also note the days and times open, unlike typical restaurants.
Easily accessible with plenty of parking out front.

Excellent takeout Thanksgiving meals prepared by students at Cabrillo.
The actual dining experience or maybe just the night I went which was a Spanish night was clunky, very slow and good was underwhelming.
I want to support the program so I will stick to takeout Thanksgiving.

This restaurant is ran by students in the Culinary Arts Program and they do a great job. The beginning students prep and serve lunch, the Advanced students prep and serve dinner. Catering class takes care of all weddings and parties that are booked there at the restaurant. The students learn all about running Front of the House, as well as Back of the House, menu planning, timing and hard work.
The instructors are great, most have the experience having worked in kitchens themselves.
Make a reservation, check it out, I’m sure you’ll be back:)
