Disrespectful General Manager and poor customer service!
1) waitress did not adequately explain what my order had with it (you assume reading off the menu a chicken quesadilla comes with Rice, guacamole, lettuce, sour cream etc.) as it is printed. She just stated a “chicken quesadilla”
2) order came out incorrect. That’s not a quesadilla- it’s a plate of diced chicken. They took it back and fixed it. My wife and mother-in-law meals are incorrect too! Waiter comes back out dropping off revised plates. (not waitress). Waitress comes out now, waiter delivers another table. Waiter brought out with just chicken/cheese in a skillet fried tortillas. When I asked her – where is my sour cream, lettuce… waitress says that’s $4.95 extra for sour cream, lettuce, salsa, guacamole – well that’s not what the menu said. You have to”à la carte” – OMG that’s not what I wanted – but I am hungry – I will eat with my family.
3) waiter comes back by and asks if everything is good now. I said I wanted sour cream and lettuce – which he promptly replies – “I can get that for you”. Not if I have to pay $4.95. “Oh it’s free – Don’t worry about it, I will get it for you.”
4) bill comes out – with a charge for sour cream ($1) and $1 for lettuce. That’s not what the waiter said.
5) waitress comes out – oh you are billed for everything. You had an “à la carte chicken quesadillas”. That wasn’t on the menu and not what I ordered. Where is that cost for these “extras” on the menu I thought? Why isn’t it in my order as I ordered it. Please get the manager.
6) General Manager comes out to argue with me about the bill telling me “I have to run a business and nothings for free” “why did you try to get this for free when my waitress told you it was $4.95?” This guy is lecturing me about this when this mess was caused by his employees? I said “his” employee said it was free and he needs to honor that. I didn’t want all those condiments, I just wanted sour cream and lettuce. His employee said he can make it right. But this GM was caustic and unbending on listening to his customer.
7) So Mr GM, here is a lesson for you on how to run a business and how to have good customer service : 1. Customer is always right! Do not interrupt them, do NOT escalate, do NOT disrespect them. 2. This is over miscommunication on YOUR employees’ actions. Your waitress needs to be counciled on repeating back what is ordered so if there is something incorrect – it’s fixed. If one of YOUR employees states “I can take care of that and that will be no cost (free)” – that is your Business saying that is the cost… that’s your problem – not mine. YOUR employee is now responsible to honor that barter for goods or services! 3. I would have made sure your customer is taken care of and happy, then go back in private with YOUR employees and tell that waiter he is responsible for the $2 and NEVER do that again! 4. Approach your customers being gracious and make their experience enjoyable and good – but seriously – you chose to embarrass me openly all for over $2 and your team was WRONG – REALLY?
Lastly – I got fed up with your treatment in front of my wife and Mother-in-law, paid your full bill, and said your customer service “sucks!”
I do NOT recommend your establishment would not recommend anyone visit your higher priced place and your boss needs to explain to you what proper customer service is about.
And just FYI – for your benefit, here is another Mexican restaurant in your town that has quesadillas- and it comes with all the sides, and COSTS LESS than yours! See other Mexican restaurants do provide those extras included in the cost! Cheaper too!
I will go there before your place!
