Pink pig BBQ is closed, and there’s a sign up on the door saying its now “Dave’s place” at the hotel nearby. DO NOT make the mistake of believing that sign. If pink pig was ever an actual BBQ place, it isn’t anymore. It looks like maybe they were contracted to run the hotel kitchen and thats all they are, a hotel kitchen. Theres no actual BBQ on the menu aside from ribs and tri tip, and they seem to be prepackaged Cisco products of some sort. I got the carnita burrito and it was beyond sub-par. The meat inside was so scarce it was hard to find, and when I finally found it I was incredibly disappointed. Sad, soggy, gray meat with no seasoning whatsoever. It was by definition, not even carnitas. Now usually even a bad burrito is pretty good but this establishment somehow managed to change my views about that. And for $14? With no chips or anything as a side I considered buying some French fries but $9 for a side order of fries is an actual insult. Do yourself a favor and take the extra 7 minutes to drive to Floriano’s or another establishment in Lompoc where they actually care about the quality of their food.

My first mistake was thinking this was a BBQ place. There was no visible BBQ pit or signs of smoke, let alone a sign big enough to see. This is a small hole in the wall diner with very little BBQ offerings on the menu. I arrived at 5:30 pm and they were out of Baby Back Ribs, should have left then. Don’t waste the gas to drive out.

New review for Dave’s Place: Pink Pig is closed forever. Dave’s Place is now open at the hotel nearby. It is massively more successful from a business perspective but it has lost its’ honest and wholesome soul.

They don’t have the chicken any more, you can’t get a baked potato, and they don’t even have GF bread any more. In fact, the options for someone who eats GF are almost completely gone. Even the fries have breading. This was in my top three favorite places in Lompoc and it is now at the bottom of my list. I’m so sad.

There is a bar and the restaurant is much bigger and is bustling. I’m sure the owner is making so much more money but I miss the chicken and the country home feeling of the old restaurant. I wish there was some way they could have preserved the feeling you were eating at someone’s house for a delicious dinner while still having this success as a business.

Old review fir Pink Pig BBQ: You must try the half-chicken dinner. It’s smoky and flavorful, and the meat melts in the mouth.

Pink Pig is one of our favorite restaurants in Lompoc. We have eaten in the dining room and takeout many times, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The restaurant is clean and has that small-town-diner vibe that has nearly disappeared under all the chain restaurants and fast food places taking over California. This is the kind of place I loved to eat as a kid and I still love it.

The owner smokes the meat daily, and everything is delicious, homemade, and reasonably priced. The shakes are delicious and the desserts are amazing.

At least twice a month we find ourselves craving a BBQ plate. My favorite meal here is half a smoked chicken with sautéed veggies, baked potato, and a cup of their beef vegetable soup. The chicken is smoky and full of flavor, and slides right off the bone. It’s a lot of food, I often save half the potato and half the chicken for my lunch the next day.

We have had a variety of menu items and everything is good. The only thing I wouldn’t order again is the beef ribs, as they were not very tender. I also feel that the little side salad served with dinner isn’t always fresh. Otherwise we have tried a wide variety of menu items such as the meatloaf and tri tip dinners, various burgers and sandwiches, and the Chicken parmigiana, and everything is good.

It does close early and the hours can be limited. Some days the BBQ menu isn’t available. We would eat here probably twice as often if they were open until 7 or 8 pm.

The BEST Trip tip sandwich and beans I have ever had! The tri tip is tender and full of flavor. It falls apart in your mouth and the beans are wonderful!! The service is fast and friendly and the prices are so fare for all the food you get. It is a definite must try for BBQ lovers.

Looked up BBQ in the area and this popped up. The photos and reviews were stacked with mouth watering content. Unfortunately even though Google says it’s open, the waitress informed us it’s only for dinner and they don’t open until 4, so we had to eat from the regular cafe menu…which will be getting a 5 star review. If it showed as closed at 1:30pm I wouldn’t have even gone there.

It’s rare to find a restaurant that does everything right so I was pleasantly surprised when the Pink Pig did just that. The best tri tip I’ve ever had! Simple, honest fare cooked to perfection & served by happy & friendly employees. Definitely worth detouring through Lompoc to enjoy the Pink Pigs excellent food.

Had cup of vegetable beef soup and 1/2 club Sammy for lunch. The soup was outstanding, with chunks of smoked beef. Excellent.
