3rd time at Pilot Pete’s, and our first two visits were fantastic—great food and great views every time.
This visit was a little off. Even though it wasn’t as busy as the other weekends we’ve been here, we were served dirty appetizer plates, and our drinks weren’t refilled. We mentioned the plates to our server and were brought a new set, but about half of those were still dirty, too.
Still, I’m giving 4 stars because we’ve had such consistently good experiences here before, and I’m hoping this was just an off day. We’ll see how it goes next visit.
Food-wise, I still highly recommend the Combo Global Platter and the world-famous chicken fingers (honestly, the name says it all!).

What a cool spot! This airplane loving foodie was pleased!
Great spot for the family or even a bigger group. The place was packed and we didn’t even have a wait time. (Must have just gotten lucky!)
It was noisy but not LOUD. You could still easily have a conversation and hear everything you need to.
Food was prepared exactly how we asked and so incredibly yummy. Unfortunately we didn’t save room for dessert, but next time we definitely will.

No wait, server wasn’t prompt or could recall the drink order, nor keep the soda/water filled up. The portion size for the app was for one person, the kids pizza barely cooked on the bottom, the food overall was not great. The wrap was barely hanging on and chicken was bland. The pickle burger didn’t take much like a pickle. Overall, underwhelming but honestly if the service would’ve been better the rating would’ve been better.

Delicious classic American diner foods!! Enjoyed killing time through completing the kids word search & coloring page. Absolutely adore the airplane ambiance ✈️ my brother is a private pilot hoping to become a commercial pilot in a couple years & this was his requested restaurant for New Years lunch with the fam. Definitely coming back again!! The wonton nachos are a must!!! If you’re indecisive like me Global Platter had an amazing selection & is super shareable. (Serving portions are HUGE) Well worth the price.

Casual but clean family style restaurant with amazing comfort food, very friendly service and a unique atmosphere. Can I mention how big the portions are? My 14 YO son and I tried for the first time today and were amazed.

I wish I could give an even higher rating — I’m beyond impressed with this place. On a busy Saturday evening, we were able to make last-minute reservations and were seated quickly. The food came out fast and was delicious, and the drinks were great — I highly recommend the Mai Tai! It was strong but very tasty.
We had six kids with us (two with disabilities, zero screens), and although we experienced some complaints from a few rude customers, the staff was incredibly understanding, compassionate, and empathetic. We truly couldn’t thank this team enough for their kindness and the way they supported our family. Highly recommend!

Big fans of this place! My son and I like coming here so much that we decided to build the place in a Minecraft world! We took some liberties, but I think it is reasonably accurate and was a lot of fun to make.

Pilot Pete’s is a fun and unique spot! The food is great, and even though there was a little spider hanging around, the atmosphere was lively and the staff was friendly. It’s the perfect spot for a casual lunch or dinner with friends and family. Definitely a must-visit! The spider didn’t ruin our experience, though; the food and atmosphere were too good to let it bother us. We’ll definitely be back!

A couple of pilot buddies and I met for dinner Sunday evening.
The place was absolutely packed.
We sat in the bar for a couple hours and the service was great. Nicole, our bartender did a great job.
John the owner, and Maria the manager stopped by to say hello.
I ordered my favorite meal, pot roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, extra gravy, buttered corn, a side of coconut shrimp, a salad with ranch, and a Jack and Coke.
Best meal in Schaumburg!
