One of my favorite go to places. Aunt Emma’s makes you feel at home. Plus, the food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable. You can’t go wrong, anything you order is absolutely amazing.
This time around, I ordered the machaca, bistec ranchero, and for dessert I had the banana stuffed French toast, so tasty and yummy. We also had a wonderful mimosa flight!
And the cherry on top, for my birthday, they gave me a superb slice of basque cheese cake on the house

Perfect spot for breakfast and coffee. We visited this restaurant on a Saturday morning shortly after they opened. No wait to sit and food was served quickly. By the time we left, around 830am, business was picking up. Our server was kind and attentive, food was absolutely delicious with fresh ingredients, seating was cozy in our booth, and check out was a breeze with a cashier that was speedy and pleasant. We had the Denver Omelet and a breakfast burrito. Both were fantastic and the potions were large – more than enough. Would definitely go again and likely share an order.

Wow, this was amazing. My wife took me this classic SD brunch breakfast diner. It was poppin’ but we were seated quickly on a Saturday.
If you like breakfast they have you covered. It won’t be pretty for social media but it will be delicious, served quickly, and at a great price. Two locations. We went to the National City spot.

This was a great breakfast choice at an affordable price! There was a short wait of about 15 minutes to be seated. I ordered the ham and eggs which came with fresh fruit and pancakes for only $12.99! Everything was flavorful and hot. The only negative was that they didn’t serve our pancakes until after we had finished the rest of our meal. They kept telling us they were working on them, so I assume there was some sort of kitchen issue. Not a huge deal, and the pancakes were hot and fresh once we did get them. We would definitely return!

I have heard about aunt emma’s for a long time, with long lines of people waiting in line to get in especially on weekends. Wife got their famous pancakes, i saw that they had mole chilaquiles and had to try them, the mole had a perfect balance of sweet and spicy flavor. This place is definitely on my permanent list of go to breakfast spots in the San Diego area..

What an absolute GEM of a spot in San Diego. My friends and I stopped in during Twitchcon week for breakfast and ending up coming back every day when we could. Mary Jane was absolutely amazing and we can’t wait to come back and have her be our waitress again

Got our table right away on a Tuesday morning.
Food was just as good as last time we were here in 2021. If NOT, then better.
Good portions were extremely huge for the buck, had to take (basically a full meal) to go.

Great food, affordable price, changes I would recommend: Waiting. You get there, and there’s usually a wait. Have an app you can check in or place a phone number you can call thats visible to reserve your seat. Parking, has quite a bit but quite a bit of people go here, and can be difficult. Coffee options, theres a few listed but nothing really on the menu. Cappuccino, lattes, etc. Lastly not all tables have condiments, ex: 2 seater tables. Would be nice to not have to search for these things while you have your food.

Having grown up in San Diego I’ve always heard of this place but never made it in until today. I see what the hype is all about. Everything we ordered was fantastic. The service isn’t the best ever, but that’s okay when the food is appropriately priced and comes out excellent. I had the machaca con huevo plate and it was fantastic. The bloody Mary was $6.50…….. the same bloody Mary would run you $15 in North park. Prices here feel like I’ve gone 5 years into the past. Aunt Emma’s pancakes will be on my normal rotation moving forward.
