Wow this place is great. Returned for a second visit and almost a third. Avocado toast was delicious. Huevos rancheros was the best he’s ever had (and he’s extremely critical). Waffles and chicken were phenomenal. Wanted to try additional entrees but honestly our fist choices were so good we just hit repeat. Lovely overlook as an of the market sign as an added bonus. Can be loud if someone nearby has VOICE IMMODULATION.

Not too bad! Food was average, but the service was superb. Plus location and convenience to get into. Atmosphere is fine, seems like a tavern so don’t expect any fancy, but you will eat well and it’s a good spot to stop by while you are visiting this area. Oh! Restrooms are outside the bar and you need to collect a key first. Not an ideal adventure but it isn’t that bad either

I came here for New Year’s Day as it was one of the only places open at 4pm. What was ordered were a couple of drinks (Coke & lemonade), 2 burgers, and nachos as an app. I was about to bite a nacho and tasted metal before I bit, and there was that blade. The server was unapologetic to the situation. He was attentive with every table he had besides my table of two. He came around only because we had queued him to and showed him the blade. He picked up the blade and said, “I’ll go talk to the kitchen.” Didn’t come back until he brought the burgers. After that, there was no interaction from him until the check came. I ate all my fries (since I knew there was no possible way of another blade being in there) and took a couple of bites of my burger solely because I HAD to eat to take medicine. I was concerned I’d find another blade in that burger. After a thorough inspection from my partner and myself a couple of times, I finally took a couple bites. When the check came, he compd the nachos and drinks. He mumbled “sorry about that” and that was about it. I’m sorry, but having worked in the food industry and customer service industry itself, I know the way he went about servicing my table was unprofessional. If you can’t deal with a situation like that, don’t work in the food service industry. Especially when we weren’t rude about it. We were quiet and respectful in the way it was brought up. You also don’t avoid attending a table because of a situation. My partner left the server a tip, but had it been me, I wouldn’t have left him anything, even if I felt bad he worked on New Year’s Day. He was awkward and unprofessional. I absolutely regret eating here as it ruined my first day of the year and it could’ve been a hospital visit. Never again. If you do come here, make sure to check your food.

Let down. Great location, weak vibe. We’ve eaten there many times over the years, but this experience was less than we hoped for. Prices were a bit high but not stupid. The cleanliness was marginal, the service was not personal and the food was reasonable.

Watched the Mariners vs the Tigers inning 9-13 here! Had an excellent vibe, great food and drinks! Will totally go back! All the servers were very kind and on it! We got the nachos and the artichoke spinach dip, so good! The chips are my favorite kind. Empress gin and tonics, look nice and spooky for Halloween!

Pike Place Bar & Grill was super convent to the Pike Place Market and had really nice views of the bay. The “northwest chicken” was cooked to perfection and very tender, juicy, and with the sauce added so much flavor! Could have drank the sauce over the top oh so good! Fish tacos were good but nothing special but that’s not a knock on them just normal fish tacos. Waffle was a plateful and thick with plenty of whip cream and strawberries if that’s your jam. Grilled cheese (not pictured) was also a large portion and tasty by grilled cheese standards. Service however was kind of slow with no attention to detail and took too long to check on the table, so drinks ran dry and if you needed anything extra you better ask the first time you see them. Food came out reasonably for an early dinner when nobody else was there. Atmosphere was much like a pirate ship but cool.

Restaurant Review – A Mixed Bag with Some Solid Highlights
⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3 out of 5)

We visited this restaurant for lunch on a Saturday just after the 4th of July. The wait time was about 20 minutes, which wasn’t bad given the holiday weekend. However, finding the entrance was a bit of a challenge — the sign is small and tucked away in a stairwell, making it easy to miss if you’re not familiar with the area.

Once inside, the overall vibe was casual and somewhat old-school. The dining space has a nice view overlooking the market, and the bar area is a decent size with a few TVs for entertainment. There are around 18 tables, with a separate area for those waiting to be seated. Cleanliness seemed fine overall, though the salt and pepper shakers at our table could’ve used a serious wipe-down.

We ordered a chicken Caesar salad and a Caesar salad with shrimp. The shrimp was cooked perfectly — tender and flavorful. The chicken was good but bordering on dry. Both salads were underdressed considering the amount of lettuce, so we found ourselves wishing for a little more dressing to balance things out.

The furniture is one of the weaker points. The tables are a bit short and show their age with scuffs and dings on the edges. Chairs have a curved bar along the back that can dig into your sides, especially if you’re on the larger side. Booth seating is bolted to the floor, so if you need more room or flexibility, it’s best to request a standard table. That said, they do let you adjust the window shades if you’re seated in a booth, which is a nice touch.

Service was mixed. Our waitress wasn’t particularly chatty, and she seemed a bit worn out, but she did keep our waters refilled. The host was on the phone when we arrived to sign in, so there wasn’t much of a greeting, though she seemed polite once free.

The menu is simple, with entrees ranging from $20–$30, with seafood and steak options costing significantly more. Drinks come in basic bar glasses, and each table has sweeteners, sugar, salt, and pepper.

Overall, this spot has a decent atmosphere, especially with the market view, and the food is solid if not spectacular. With a few upgrades to the seating and a little more attention to detail, this place could really shine.

Decent food with a solid atmosphere. Very friendly staff.

Ordered the prickly Cadillac margarita. Solid choice.

Also ordered a house salad with ranch and Gordys Big Big Boy Burger. Another solid choice. A little more well done than preferred.

Might be back if ever in the area.
