Let’s start with the service. It was fantastic. We had an extremely nice waitress who was expedient with the service. The establishment was clean. There was not a wait time. Parking was ample. The food, especially the pork ribs, were delicious. Pricing was about what you would expect in a tourist destination. I recommend visiting this business.

I have been all over the east coast from NY to FL and this has been the best BBQ I have had. Everything is home made and taste fantastic. Not to mention the staff is extremely friendly and the outdoor seating is dog friendly! And the prices are very reasonable

Lots of great reviews for this restaurant but maybe we had an off day. Service was attentive and friendly. Place smelled great which excited us about the food. Food was very disappointing. Brisket sandwich had no flavor and was excessively fat. Reminded me of roast beef at a wedding buffet. Fries were extremely salty. Server did offer to give us another order. Mac and cheese was luke warm and very watery, not much flavor. Friend had baby back ribs which were tough and dry. Greens tasted great but too salty. Ordered smoked wings too and again not much flavor.
Also heard someone constantly coughing and after we ate we saw it was one of the individuals cooking our food. Fingers crossed we won’t get sick.
Wouldn’t go back.

If you’re looking for a no-frills, hole-in-the-wall BBQ joint with solid flavors and big portions, Pigout BBQ & Southern Soul Food in Bradenton is worth a visit.
We ordered a half rack of spare ribs with pulled chicken and another with pulled pork, plus a mix of sides—potato salad, mac n’ cheese, baked beans, and mashed sweet potatoes—so we could try a bit of everything.
The ribs were the standout, with a great tangy and sweet BBQ flavor and a tender, moist texture. The pulled pork had a decent smoky flavor, but the pulled chicken tasted more like rotisserie chicken than slow-smoked BBQ. Both pulled meats were extremely juicy—almost too watery—but still enjoyable.
The house-made sauces were fantastic, with a choice between a sweet BBQ and a golden mustard-based sauce—both were flavorful and complemented the meats well.
Among the sides, the potato salad was my favorite. It’s made with a mix of regular and sweet potatoes, giving it a unique pinkish hue, which might be unexpected for some, but I loved it. The mac n’ cheese was a close second—creamy and perfectly cooked. The baked beans were good, but the mashed sweet potatoes were just okay. I noticed a lot of people ordering the fried okra, so that’s on my list for next time.
Portion sizes were very generous, and I even had leftovers—which is rare for me!
The atmosphere is what you’d expect from a classic hole-in-the-wall BBQ joint—casual, laid-back, and no frills. The service was friendly, not the fastest, but welcoming.
Overall, I’d definitely go back and try the smoked bone-in chicken, brisket, and fried okra next time. If you’re in Bradenton and craving BBQ, Pigout is a solid option!

Marley was our server & she was amazing.
Service was great, food was great!
Definitely going back.
I had the Brisket sandwich.
Only thing to consider ls less fat on the Brisket but I’m a meat snobb.

Brisket and okra was very good but the spare ribs was the best.

This place is awesome! The smokers are right beside the outdoor dining and the smell is heavenly. They also have indoor dining but who can resist that smoker smell? The food is so good! Got the half rack of spare ribs and they melted right off the bone. The collard greens are the best I have ever had. The mashed sweet potatoes are great as well as the beans. You cannot go wrong with this place!!

Pulled into the parking lot to see them roasting a pig over an open fire out front. Place smelled so good. Very down how feel. Staff was friendly and attentive. I so wanted the BBQ, but the wife was set on brisket. Which was good but not pink enough for me nor has a crust on it. Which most places do not, that is why I wanted the BBQ. But the brisket was good. The cheese grits were a hit for sure super yummy. Will be back for sure without the wife to try that BBQ.

The food lacks flavor. We expected the place to smell like BBQ. There was no smell, that should have been an indication that the meat we were getting was yesterdays. It had that day old flavor. The baked beans were awful. The coleslaw is very heavy on the mayo and pineapple. Overall, it was overpriced and underflavored. It’s a no for repeat business for us.

I’m leaving this review before I’ve even left the restaurant. I ordered a burger with bacon and cheese, and it first came with no cheese so they brought me out a piece of cold American cheese that I had to put on myself. I also had to apply my own sauces to the bun. I finally got to start my burger that I practically made myself and the bottom bun was soggy. The bacon was also so crisped that it was shriveled, so I ended up just taking it off and eating it separate. And the burger which was supposed to be medium, was probably more of a medium rare.
Overall not a super great experience, but the food was still good. Probably wouldn’t come back.
