-Briskett was phenomenal. Very moist and didn’t even need sauce, though the “red” sauce was very good with it.
-Mac and cheese was one of the best I have had. My wife kept stealing bites.
-My wife enjoyed her pulled pork sandwich.
-Cornbread was solid, but slightly dry.
-Very good sized portions.
-Good value.
The bad:
Very short list here-
-My wife commented the macaroni salad was not great. Was a little tangy, and not in a good way.
-While my wife found the pulled pork to be very good, I tried a bite and definitely wasn’t a fan, so you will have to try it for yourself as a tie breaker.
Service was as good as it gets. A young woman and man who were there today were actually friendly and helpful – quite the rarity today to find people that work in a service industry and are this nice and genuine. Very nice job. We are fans. Five stars
The pulled pork sandwich was so good that I forgot to put any sauce on it. The golf sauce was a great addition and the white sauce had a nice little bite to it.
The biscuit sandwich was something I’ll be thinking about for a while. Succulent, seasoned, just some of the best meat I’ve ever put in my mouth, no homo.
Was my first time here and will not be my last. Enjoyed with a side of Mac and Cheese and cheddar grits.
Looking forward to trying the briscuit potato and buffalo chicken dip next time I go. Quality of the buns was top notch. The guy at the counter was super personable and gave us great recommendations.
Also don’t forget to get the banana pudding. Wow what a dessert.
I’ll go back earlier in the day and try something else but I’m very sad my brisket was this dry and the potato was hard and I just didn’t get any flavor that I was hoping for!
That being said, the service was amazing and the young girl on the phone was very kind.
So happy to have you here because the bbq place we used to go to abandoned us and moved to Avondale, the joke was on them I believe. We’ll be back!
UPDATE!
Had the Rueben sandwich today, absolutely incredible sandwich, very generous portion of the most incredible meat ever served!
The mustard sauce was
I think their Bama Turkey sandwich is top of the menu for me. It combines thick-sliced turkey, layered with tomato, onion, and dill pickles, with white sauce on the side ($10). The turkey is really good, and I like having some additional toppings on the sandwich rather than just coleslaw. Sides can be added for $4 and include the pickled onion and peppers, which are awesome.
Another unique item is the Pig Mac Bowl, a bowl of mac and cheese, topped with pulled pork, red sauce, and slaw ($10). This is a full meal in a bowl, and there is no need to add a side to it. It’s a really good option.
The pulled pork sandwich is topped with white and gold sauces plus slaw on the side ($8). Plenty of meat is piled high on the butter toasted bun, and it’s full of smoke plus very tender.
A full kids’ menu is available, plus local craft beer, hard seltzers, wine, and mimosas. It’s a wonderful place to stop before a concert or even for Sunday brunch.
