We come here all the time for lunch and the service is usually mediocre at best but today our server, BRIAN, exceeded our expectations. He greeted us promptly and checked on us multiple times. We didn’t have to wait for anything.
The food is always consistently delicious which is why we keep coming back but today was even better with the exceptional service. Thanks Brian, keep up the good work! Cheers!
For reference, we ordered the half pound shrimp with no head, black mussels and 3 hard boiled eggs. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I use to love this place… came here Thursday 2/12/26 as a valentines dinner with my man since we had our kids on the 14th. Thought it was going to be perfect! Eh Wrong!!! Woke up Friday throwing up shrimp shrimp and more shrimp! They ruined my love for shrimp! Plus I was bed ridden all valentines weekend! Wasn’t able to eat anything decent until Monday for dinner! I’m so disgusted by this. Food poisoning is the worst! I knew something tasted off about my shrimp but I thought it was just the seasonings. It wasn’t a big difference in taste and the lemon helped. So i ate it thinking “never had an issue here before” . Never again.

I think the food was really good. I ordered the lb. of Green Mussels, and for the table the popcorn shrimp and fried calamari. One of my brothers got the fried oysters and fries, he was disappointed. my other brother got the wings, he was satisfied. I thought they were generous with the mussels. my bag had only one cob of corn and one potato. the house sauce was very good and my brothers agreed. However, our service wasn’t good. Our Server was Valeria, it seemed like she was avoiding our table. I saw her peek at us from the kitchen but not come to help us. Her customer service needs a lot of help. At the end of our dining experience, my brother noticed and pointed out to me that she was preoccupied with her male-coworker. I was pretty disappointed also in the fact that my brother didn’t enjoy his food.

Great food, great price, great atmosphere! Wide open dining area, awesome bar space and great music playing when we came in. We did the Famous Low Country Boil with Garlic Butter and Lemon Pepper seasoning, mild on the hot sauce and it was topped it off with some deep fried oysters, popcorn shrimp and chicken tenders. Found a new go to spot for us

Not bad. I’ve spent a lot of time in South Carolina Low Country. Had many boils. This wasn’t that but we’re 2400 miles away and planets away culturally. I’m impressed. I would recommend one spice higher than you think and they could spice more regardless but it’s a good, messy night out with crab, corn, sausage and potatoes. Well done Pier 88.

We always come here. We have gone to many others and still choose pier 88. Flavor is on point, portions are plenty. From the boil to the baskets can’t go wrong. Service is always good as well.

Was not empressed on the selection made. The boiled options were not bad. Seasoning was off compared to the other crab place. Had the fried catfish. No texture with the filet pieces. They had the consistency of mashed potatoes. Straight out, MUSH. Crispy batter outside, but inside was a bug fail. I brought this up to our server and it was like business as usual. No other options offered. She even mentioned that the chicken strips struggle at times. I said the fish must be frozen and not prepared correctly. Or just old stock and maybe old oil. Her response was ” would you like any dessert “. They might have received a 3 star but after paying 70 dollars. Then having to stop and get something to eat on the way home. If its boiled your ok. If fried, its a roll of the dice.. Not right.

With a small shellfish allergy, I thought it would be nice to order some mussels, oysters and fried fish. Unfortunately, I was told that they use the same boiling water with the shellfish so I opted for the fried oysters and fried catfish with fries. I can’t believe they thought it was ok to serve uncooked fries. Look at the pics and although they did give us fresh, extra fries, I had eaten half of my meal. The customer service was great. I would love to come back and give them a try.

This establishment should change its name to FROZEN pier 88 since everything on their menu is frozen…charging $80+ for king crab and it ends up being frozen/thawed out is diabolical…at least disclose the information so we are aware before ordering it. Food quality is below 1 star. Very disappointing dinner.

I ordered the crab boil, was not fresh it tasted Cody. The huge potato was just in the bag. Shrimp was good with the sauce French fries was yummy. Barely seen the waiter.
